  • I been working on a side project (when I get tired of working on rentool) that loads uncompiled choicescript games. The idea is you can rip the scenes.txt files from cogdemo and skip the compile to html step

BTW, I been refining the rentool ui, i got androids theme engine working so the ui uses accent colors from your wallpaper
Updated my phone to a s25 ultra from a pixel 8 pro and have to say it works great. I dunno if I like one ui 8 but it allows me to play steam games via game native locally since my pixel 8p wasn't powerful enough. Love it

The new SpongeBob game doesn't work with it which is a crime :/
If you didn't catch the latested update my app now can compress apk files (renpy only) note you need to create a signing keys and the compressed apk can't be updated via the developer apk you have to reuse your signing key. Its slightly technical but I tried my best to reduce it the most I can

This will also mark longer periods of time between updates as rentool more or less hit feature parity of PC renpy compressors. There's some smaller features I want to add along with ui refinements (delete rpa after extraction option, delete loose files after rpa creation etc)
Good news, I didn't work today and spent it adding audio/video compression into rentool (my renpy extracter/compressor/editor) and fixed a ui information bug (when extracting multiple files the info on what it was extracting was wrong) get it here: latest release

This release marks an increase in total APK size (again) as audio/video library I used adds another 45mb of size

Also I forgot to update the icon for compression so it's a placeholder in this update (oops)
Been working on compression for my app, got images done. Next is audio then video (sorting the ffmpeg-kit being retired was annoying but found the needed libraries for videos and audio)

Hey there, this looks really useful but as much as my dumdum self likes to play renpy games I'm not really familiar with technicalities a tiny bit, hehe. How does this work exactly?

@Rubbububle rpy files are basic source files you can edit in any file manager to change stats and stuff. So extract then decompile the rpyc to get the rpy files, edit and launch the game via joiplay. Renpy loads the loose rpy files automatically

I'm constantly changing and improving the app, rn I added a pop-up after you extract that asks if you want to automatically decompile the rpyc to rpy files.
