It's not about anyone specific really, I've just noticed that a lot of writing spaces have been very anti censorship and anti criticism, all because they're freaks and "criticism is mean because a lot of authors do this for free "
The anti censorship stance alone is stupid enough given how genuinely horrendous popular books and fanfictions have been when it comes to certain topics. I don't give a **** about 'dark romance', go enjoy your crusty rapey kidnapper incest fantasy or whatever, but I should at least be able to criticize it when it's genuinely **** from a butt dude
"criticism is mean because a lot of authors do this for free " this is not an argument anymore since they all have Patreons and they keep most of their crap there, publishing almost nothing "for free."
At the very least, they should include a warning/FAQ informing readers: ‘You are about to experience some truly horrid (****)content intended for an audience with psychological afflictions similar to the author’s’—something along those lines. Then you'll know what you're dealing with.
