Mad scientists at the Farm use a mixture of genes taken from humans to create ReGenes. They also take a pinch from boosts or their family members to achieve better results in boosted ReGenes.
MC has a bit of genes taken from HG's younger sibling. The kid was either already dead or alive but later killed by them. I do not know which version is true. The official version is that they died in custody (?).
Ortega believes that Sidestep is indeed HG's little sibling.... HG will also believe this if we manipulate them.
You mean the older demo where we could choose Impostor from 1 to 4 numbers? Each of them reacted a little differently to MC. Pretty strange thing. The author said that ultimately it will depend on stats, not our choice.
I think that regardless of how this Impostor behaves, it's some kind of... new creation, born from what remains of Ace. Or perhaps Sidestep's split personality that gained control over the body?
That would explain the same swear words they use. Also in one version, they react strangely to MC's name as if they believed that was their name.
Oh? Did Malin change his mind? I remember he said the break the mirror scene in book 2 would be one of the major choices to calculate who the impostor will be. And sidestep will be able to befriend some but not all
Anyway, i know the dominant personality of one of the imposters is Ace, two other imposters don't have a difference in the demo yet and both arbor sidestep personality (the same swear word being the proof) but the last one, the violent, is a mystery for me.
I was referring to Revelations demo where there is a character creator and we could choose one of the Impostors.
People discussed it a bit on the forum, and most often the theories were that #1 and #2 (confused and frightened) were associated with Ace. The violent one #3 seemed the most unstable, so maybe Heartbreak.
I think that the Impostor we ultimately get will be a mix of all of them. How hostile or scared or willing to cooperate they will be will depend on stats. I don't know which ones, though.
There will be a few flashbacks to it in 3 if I recall right. One of them will be about what exactly Step did as a cuckoo which will have some options (or at least Malin said it would a while ago, might have changed his mind since then).What is that new sneak peek all about?

I'm pretty sure they are going to believe that even if you don't manipulate them.

Anarchist with Tech Theif being a close second, either being an ruthless vigilante or running a shadow government in LD, unlikely baring things going very off rails, depends on one's definition of happy ending but to me yes if they don't end up going mad with power.
At first I went with Master Mirror but since that was a bit much of a reference in another run I switched to Reflection.
The balloon in the top right was mentioned a few times. Once during the big Heartbreak flashback, twice during the therapy session as a suicidal Step, and another during it if Step has a medium scar value. Apparently it's part of a picture Step saw in the room with Heartbreak, how important it is currently is still up in the air.

makes it sound like it's what Malin wants to work on next.
On other hand each 1.1 needs it's own unique half (that can stil fit in other paths like the Chen talks in 2 about him building up to telling Step that he knows that Step that's a Re-Gene) that also takes into account romance, polys, suspicion (though at least for Ortega it has to be somewhat low in order to get here anyways) and probably a few other variables. All this taking so long was one of the reasons that even though 1.1 won a pateron vote a while ago it still got push back. So if it starts taking too long again I can see being pushed back one more though to finish the rest of puppet paths for chapter 1.

As far as I recall, the author said that 1.1 are more pleasant and easier to write than the puppet stuck endings, so he would leave them as the last.But can we trust his words? I got impression he's working on whatever he feels like depending on his mood. Writers
There are 4 endings left besides 1.1 - we stuck in the puppet, but it was the Impostor who ended up with broken legs. They are quite exciting imo, judging by the excerpts.
I have no idea, Malin is quite unpredictable for me. But according to the last poll he might work on the rebirth update for now.
I hope he does because i want to reread the books so bad. I don't know how much longer I can resist.
