We're literally monkeys with computers here, so the accusation is intended to generate hatred and distrust

I started this thread to hear your thoughts on Patreon's exclusive content and the big change in ifs, where it stopped being original stories and became a product

Nah, man, you're just sh1t at maintaining your website, yet you still try to play hero by creating a "superior" dashingdon with pAtRe0n pLuGin. Maybe try to solve the save data problem everytime there is a new update first?
Spoiler this person is also sh1t at making visual novels lmao no wonder she tries really hard to be relevant in the COG forum/community lmfao

Wait, what has she made?

Patreon exclusive wouldn't be a big deal if the creators actually you know created. And not hide bread crumbs of lore and **** behind paywalls and the public doesnt get **** for YEARS

I'm also a bit confused for their rules on Patreon exclusives. I know some authors have made deals behind the scenes so they don't have to release their patreon exclusives after a certain time period but I'm not even sure if its enforced in general. There have been COG patreon exclusives for years that have never been released publicly. It does seem like some authors do hide lore behind a paywall as an excuse to have something available to patrons. Even when it isn't important I'm kind of confused when I see authors posting POVs that are spoilers with no intent of these character POVs ever being included in the main game.

I wouldn't say that, because people, myself somewhat included, do know how this works and how, but no one would really give that much of a **** really. To launch a full scale ddos attack on CoG just because writers are dogs who hide their content behind patreon is crazy. I'd guess that my comment on this one being a novice hacker/coder who wanted to test their skills is probably the most accurate one, and if they get a little leaking action, why not.
And to think three places were the originators, when zombie computers aka bots can be operated from wherever on the planet as long as you have access to those... Yeah this one is just trying to sound smart atp

They can't fix the save thing because, apparently, they are constantly being attacked by "pirates" ffs :ROFLMAO: Why does CoG think that they are so important to anyone?

If they weren't corrupt little bitches and followed their own rules, people wouldn't be pissed about the Patreon thing

The example what you've given is a sort of a "loophole" thing, though maybe not even that.
CoG has a rule that if you post a game on their website, if you have a patreon, you can post that specific game there as well, like early releases and whatnot, but any content that's outside of that (POVs, short stories, ****ing dlcs even) all of that does not fall under that rule, afaik. So yeah, stories that are posted are the only things that that rule is basically applied on, but not even that, because CoG is **** at maintaining that, which is why you'll have writers not releasing **** for months on end, while the updates will be patreon exclusive things.
And yes, there are also behind the scenes deals being made with bigger writers (cc and whatnot), but those are usually made for their insane percentages they want to take from creators, if you decide to publish through them, and not the patreon content release schedules

Lmao what's with that inflated sense of ego?dashingdon only died because of server maintenance costs.imagine having an ego that big but they can't even make a lot of good games just say you're **** at making a secure site

A website that looks so ***... Yeah, you can't expect much from them :ROFLMAO: I swear, they don't even have a dark mode which just shows how simple their code is

I see. Though, there's still an issue with some authors releasing POVs that spoil their game and claim that these POVs will be added to their game later on yet chapters later theres no POVs from the patreon added to the game.

Reading through the messages it does give off that they need to do a lot better. They sounded incredulous, unwilling to accept that maybe the site needs improvement instead of blaming outside parties. Though I know the people who upkeep the site probably have little to do with the enhancements to Choicescript, it sets a bad precedent for its coding. People have been asking for QOL additions to Choicescript for a long time now and the process of additions being added is taking very long.

I mean, if that's the case, then yeah, they are not following the rule, but it's not like CoG gives two shits to do anything about that I'm afraid

Lmao this person has to be one of the most obnoxious people in the COG forum and community in general and has been for years, even before she took over running dashingdon/cogdemos. It's a shame she had to be the one to take up the mantle. 🥴 I remember seeing that she'd be the one to take over after dashingdon shut down and I knew we'd be cooked. 💀 The site has only become worse and worse since she's been running it lmao, her code is complete **** and she can barely even program herself by the looks of it because she keeps mentioning how she's paying some other dev to implement various features?? 😭 And when I say that the site has become worse I don't even mean the patreon plugin that made pirating more complicated, I literally just mean the site in general - it's so ****ing buggy and saves are constantly broken, among a dozen other things. But she gets away with having a **** site because all the authors and white knights are too busy sucking her dick for implementing the patreon plugin. Like bruh.... yeah dashingdon was a very simplistic site and it lacked some quality of life features but at least it WORKED!!! The only significant bug I ever had there was the infamous bug where if you saved right after you checked the stats, your saves would get broken. But everyone knew about that bug lol. Even since dashingdon got replaced with this turd, I've been playing less and less IFs that aren't on itchio specifically because of the shitty new site, it's so ****ing unusable istg. Also, COG continue to be retards as usual. They could have taken over dashingdon themselves and not changed a thing, especially considering their own licensed writers used the site for their demos. But why do that when the community can just pay and run the site for you lmao?

The save problem is in the cside app, and not the website itself. Because when coding, you need to change a "starting" file, adding a single new variable or so, and that makes the whole program go berserk, so now, it views the game as a brand new game, which is why the saves don't work. But yeah, I agree with everything you said, the site is ****, and its code is ****, and the people who run it are just a bunch of useless retards

Monkeys with computers seems an apt comparison😭 Hell, some of us can't even read the thread rules, and they accuse US hacking their site?😭

If anything, we want to keep that site alive. Losing dashingdon was hard enough for this community.
