i don't think the update fixed the biggest problem with this game. it still feels very incomplete to me.
i've tried different paths and the changes were made mostly to the hero-route endings, which now offer an "improvement" when compared to the original game – which only seems to be improved in wordcount, not quality.
unsupervised continues to lack any kind of real character writing, which doesn't come as a surprise once that wasn't the update's objective, but it's still frustrating when the characters are just archetypes and don't feel like real people. fallen hero, for example, walks the fine line between larger-than-life characters that still have their faults and traumas and qualities, something this game doesn't seem very concerned with.
the villain comes out of nowhere, along with more characters that you don't know – and won't. a little bit of foreshadowing would've come a long way, with a few scenes setting up the threat, and improving the overall pace of the story.
i was originally interested in lieu of the various options when it comes to the powerset and how you lead your career, however, to me, it feels like unsupervised bit more than it could chew.
i think it would've benefitted from spending a little more time in the oven, instead of being published when it did.
i get it's the first game for a (probable) two-part story, but that's no excuse to not having satisfying endings for this instalment.
