If I were to choose between reptile and bovine I would definitely choose the former. Reptile yokai can get a specific core increase depending on your ancestry and you can tank the lightbringers light chi blast to heal your wounds in Harehama. Bovine yokai may as well be ignored if all I get is massive **** and a slight boost in fortitude checks but yeah I would put these two races at the bottom.

Iirc Female Bovine Yokai gets like +1 in persuasion and deception if you pick a bodacious bodyYokai slander is crazy but at least most yokai have passive benefits that are useful or some specific perks. All bull yokai's get is a giant 'sword'.I honestly think Bovine yokai is straight up the worst race because of this. Oni also get exorcism and stuff for free and Humans basically have a second health bar etc.
Still going to rep my male cat yokai MC because of Brass Tiger though.

Reptile gets +1 stealth (helps steal stuff from Thunderfall), +1 core of your choice and free AP from the Lightbringer fight. It's not the best but as far as reactivity goes it's not bad.
Plus you get to be descended from a dragon.
Reptile, kitsune and monkey are my favs by far.
