Personally, while I like POMA and love AC, Dao ascension just seems mid, just there. You are op, we get that but what's the actual purpose of the plot??? Is MC just going around showing they are op?? The game doesn't seem to pull me in.

I feel like that game needs to be structured more like a free roam game because the fact that mc is the strongest yet still forced to do stuff because of plot (follow sister anywhere she goes) is just annoying.
Hell, I don't even care about any side characters in that game. If there's ever an option to just ditch/kill those bums I'd take it right then and there.

Yes I agree completely, writing structure is not there, choices don’t matter at all after you choose. Thought it would be a revenge type story seems forgotten for now. Like power fantasies can be fun, but not if there’s no overarching story like a thousands of us. You’re just going from place to place. Plus it’s either being good hearted or cartoonish evil puts me off so much.
If your MC has the Water Element, during the event in which you meet Gazhura at sea, you can choose to risk saving a water spirit that the Wild God was about to devour. The Wild God then tries to devour the MC, who manages to escape.
I suppose it also works if your MC has one or zero elements, but I haven't tested it.
It does work if you have an elemental slot empty. Instead of '[Water Element Event]', it'll say '[Unchained/Unbound (I forgot the exact wording) Element Event]'.
The side characters doesn't even make you like them or feel interested in them or their personality. It's just meh.
If the game is going for a free roam, it should do that and stop pretending to actually have a plot.

Well I can enlighten you on my go to playstyle which is Aoyusumu(the style where you're trained by the monk) and choosing reptile yokai with Celestial dragon as my MC's bloodline. For elements it's Light and water. Light had a lot of interactions when fighting Jack in the dragon trials an it was fun using it to blitz or rush the guy at certain moments,pair it with the agile body type for males and it's the cherry on top. There's a particular point during the fight where you can straight up phase through one of jacks attacks and catch him off guard in your next choice which gives you a +1 on the next combat action.Yeah I thought twas the lord seals that caused that. As for Reptile Yokai with the celestial dragon bloodline I didn't expect the racial technique to actually be an attack which you can use to destroy that earth snake that Jack summons and I thought that was pretty cool. Side note is only Reptile Yokai that can destroy it this way and no other race.
Then at the end with the Aoyusumu style where your transformation turns you into a god basically and Jack basically crashes out seeing this
.All in all pretty fun to do and I always feel that Sacred style is a parallel to Beast style in the following ways1) Sacred style lies in the mind and beast style focuses on the body.
2) Their transformations are direct opposites of each other conceptually (Deva for Sacred style and Asura for wild style even though Jack forgoes the main transformation for his own essentially)
3) In the fight against Jack you can deal additional damage at certain points if you're a Sacred style user by having extremely high compassion while according to the trials wild style appreciates a more ruthless approach which would explain why I have the lowest approval rate of them at this point with -4%.
