At money making? No, merchant is the clear winner. At other utilities though? Herbalist let's you power up many of your companions and your retainers, helps Rin and Jin to get better results in two trials (Dragon and Snake). Plus the Bubblebrew is nice.

And blacksmith lets you nail the point home at Jack, also lets you get dual wield. And trapper can...

Even that is lame tbh, just not as bad as trapper. I've tried to get a build that dumps alchemy to work but it's so bad that it beggars belief.

And that is not even counting that there is a trial that is JUST Alchemy. Just the downsides in AP gain alone are atrocious, and all you get out of it is the Godthreaded Belt.

What do you expect from the little bird bro, poor thing has an AP of 234. Don't you know it's talent level is like 1.6/10 ???

Thing is, you're allowed to just sell the roc at the start no? I'm not sure trapper can even do anything in terms of reactivity without it.

There isn't.

I think Tian Fang mentions your bond with the Roc is a boon because you can then choose to specialize in a different subset of beasts and still keep birb.

But knowing now how pets work (you can only use one per battle) it's not really a boon, it's useless. The whole thing is useless.

You may not synergize as an alchemist but at least you get to cook your own steroids.

That does make me wonder how she would even fulfill her goal of becoming an infamous "queen of thieves" and robbing all the imperial vaults and banks she can get her hands on because she wouldn't aim for anything less due to the MC's goal of becoming an Archon.

Speaking of selling, am I just misremembering or do you actually get to keep the Roc even after selling it? Doesn't Kosuke steal it back for you or something?

Well even if that AP was accurate to the Lore, you should remember that Mc only won because of the fuel foundation since Taio was using a Darkness gate to make a demonic gate.

Don't know what Scholar Taio's normal AP is without that demonic gate but honestly I doubt it would be enough.
