Oh, cool! Then I will for sure!

I think it comes down to two things, right? The fact that Jack did actually outsmart the MC by making them break their own cores through their Fuel Foundation - and the MC has been warned time and time again that the burst of power they get via their Foundation is unstable and unreliable. And the fact that someone had to intervene with the fight - otherwise the MC would have died/lost.
So I want to argue on both of your points: first, yes i agree that we did abused the fuel foundation while being warned not to time and time again. But like, what choice did we had? The only time I can remember where we didn't HAVE to abuse it is when we first win again tian fang at chapter 2 (I think?). If we wouldn't have used it against Taio we would've died, if we wouldn't have used it again Jack there was a good chance of us dying (though I don't think Jack would've killed us even if we turned out a bum without using the fuel foundation, mc didn't know that). All time except with Goro's brother and against tian fang were a life or death scenario so it was really either abuse it or die.

As for your second point: so what? Sure, if you look at it a certain way then Jack won that fight and we had call in an ally like a *****, but like isn't that the whole point of the trials? Part of being an archon isn't just being the strongest but also be able to get allies even in unlikely places, mediate conflicts and so on. The fact we even had an ally crazy enough to go against JACK of all people in the trials for us shows we were an excellent candidate for being an archon rather then Jack who just solves all conflicts by using either his name or fists. Part of fighting is unfortunately not just your power or techniques but also having resources, knowledge and allies.

The problem isn't that we used the power against Jack, it's that the idea that we didn't even think about the chance of it breaking our cores.

Crippling your ability to do martial arts just to win a dumb fight against Jack for a single point is just not worth it - even if we had actually won the fight - we would have been disqualified for losing our Aura anyway. The moment we let Jack do that to us, we lost, if he had just chosen to walk away at that point - we would have been toast.

Again, Jack legitimately outsmarted us because the MC never bothered to look up any potential negative side effects for abusing their Fuel Foundation - we got cocky and too dependant on our foundation to bail us out.

Yes, but canonically, the MC wanted to fight against Jack to test their skills. That was the underlying motivation - there was not much point in doing the fight otherwise.

Speaking of allies, was it intentional that you can't get Leona to help you during the Jack fight if you have a good relationship with her and did her [seduction] event in the Dragon trial? Because she gave you a sword after your tomfoolery, so you can't call on her since she also gives you a sword in that path?

It's a bug.

I'm pretty sure she's still an option, unless if it's a very recent change?

Edit: nevermind, it's a bug apparently, because I swear she's still an option despite her giving you a sword.

While I do agree that mc was stupid for not even trying to find out what the consequences for abusing the fuel Foundation are-wouldn't our aura been destroyed by our Foundation regardless by that point in the story? We've been abusing it so much that our cultivation would've left us crippled regardless, just either at a different point in the tournament where we would have been disqualified or when we were an archon and the archonate would've fired us or something for being crippled. If anything he'd done us a favor to do it just before 2 trials you can pass without any aura whatsoever. I agree he outsmarted but that alone is not enough to constitute it as our loss or his win in my books.

As for your second point, didn't Jack threatened the twins and before the dragon trial, and right at the start of our fight we had an option to worry about them? Its not like any reasonable person can just.. expect that Jack would've let us go about our business even if we would've refused his challenge when the kitsune announcer asked us. We either fight because Jack ambused us with his technique (again, a good chance we would've died had we not used our fuel Foundation there) or we fight because we're worried about the twins.

I can't decide which savior is my favourite, Brass Tiger is cool as hell but there's also the Leona scene that almost feels inspiring until you remember Bangle was a piece of **** lol
Brass Tigers is my favorite simply because he gives Jack a legitimate struggle if only briefly and was a clone at that,also for his over the top entrance. Fang and Dessie get whooped instantly so I don't bother with those two especially the latter since I interact with her more.Never gotten Guirens help since I always beat him in the tavern and I'm not on a kuro run so I can't smooth things over with him.

Tbh jack throws the twins away the second you pretend to not care them.

The truth is simple mc just like Jack wants to fight him mc regardless of what the player thinks feels the same rivalry with jack like jack does for mc.
Jack being great and mc having a win over him is what makes Mc believe he can reach the top it's a fuel for MC's motivation and what he can achieve.

It's a draw either way lol and a draw which got Jack training from wild Exalt as he was impressed and because of that you get your Archon help via Keiko.

Leona, purely for her shattering my MC's pelvis.

Other than her though, Brass Tiger and Tian Fang are probably my second favs. Brass Tiger for the same reasons as him being a cool dude, and Tian Fang because she's just my favorite goofball.

Guiren for me, because he is my favorite friend, as well as his funny helpful minions who save the day.

It's hilarious at how a one-armed failure of a Ninja can do all that to distracts him, plus giving you a talisman that puts a CURSE on Jack to lower his combat score (which is another middle finger to the obsessed, pathetic scum).

Cause if Jack is destined to always remain alive, then I'm at least gonna do everything to make sure that he gets beaten down to the ground, absolutely embarrassed, and do every action to remind him that the only thing he is worth for is the hawk tuah spit I cover his head in.

var $jackcombat + 1
var $jackrep + 5

Here's another freebie for female MC's. Jack likes it when you spit on his face if you're a girl during the 4 way confrontation between you, sakura, goro and him.

This dude is addicted to being bullied...

I actually initially cursed him in my Kuro run after using Boszrails talisman to steal his technique, but then I found out about Guiren's one and got Limit breaker.

I'm conflicted, because I initially thought we'd be able to combine the two transformations or at least start off with Malochio then switch it Limit breaker for extra fire power, but that doesn't seem to be the case so I'm thinking about going back and just cursing him instead.

Cursing him isn't worth it keep your two transformations the amount of combat prowess jack will gain over-all it doesn't matter so keep your two transformations.
Use limitbreaker in fights and use the cursed eyes ability outside battles.

I see. Alright yeah, it's probably best to keep both of them then.

Kuro is more of an utility transformation instead of a direct combat one, and if he'll gain a bunch of combat prowess anyway then it's a much easier decision.
