You would run too look at this again and Mao isn't your average 7000+ ap guy either he is like the strongest 7000 ap guy Goro is lucky as hell there were other people in the vicinity so Mao couldn't use Thunderfall and Mao's protection wouldn't be Able to shield them from it lol.

I recall something similar happened with Angelo, although Thunderfaller felt the prayer more so than heard it. That was a weaker MC though, maybe we'll actually get to hear them once we master Aoyusumu more.

So gain the Serpent Gaze for example you need at least 17 crates, so, assuming you didn't selected the merchant ships, you would need at best(Since the base value is a round between 3-5) 12 in perception and at worst 14.
So yes, select the merchant ships.
