Ambush + numbers. If someone is ambushing you then you don't know they're attacking to send them somewhere else. And even if you do send them away after a second when you realize they're attacking you it's giving us all the time we need to punch you through the chest

I actually find it funny, all of the styles can react properly against an Akakiru cutting through space and time.
Mido can just face tank it and live, they're built different.
Aoyu can predict and stop it, they literally see through the future and control your momentum.
Kuro can just... teleport outta there. Hell, if anything, Kuro has the most appropriate reactions here. They'd out speed you or just flat out curse you before you'd even see OR sense them coming.
And Kii can just... blow you up before you even draw your sword. If anything, an Akakiru and Kii duel could just be like a western gun duel, whoever draws first generally wins or gets an advantage. Either someone gets cut, or gets The Last Dream'd in the face.
Honestly, I'd take the other things Akakiru can do over cutting through time and space.
