No, you can still beat the grim and get the bonemask. What you can't do is kill it.
It's very specific too, with power 4 as long as you isn't Midorikatai you shouldn't be killing it, weird.
Aoyusumu has its specific scene. Akakiru has its specific scene. Midorikatai kills the Grim by hitting it in the end. Kurokonton kills the Grim by dodging it. Kiihakai I don't remember exactly.
Maybe you're coordinating with Jin? I'm not sure if this + Power 4 was enough to kill the Grim but can be the matter here.
In any case, I'm not sure though if beating the Grim and not killing also triggers the AP Gained per combat + Weighted clothes like killing it does.
I think it's because I'm coordinating my attacks with Jin (I don't think I even need 4 power because I think I already beat him without 4 and I still haven't obtained the item, so I suppose fighting alongside Jin is enough).
I read the code a few days back they seem to be complex numbers rather than a simple true/false 1/0 condition so my guess is no.

I'm not sure if this is a remotely 'optimal' way of playing, but god DAMN if it doesn't make the dopamine flow.
(In case someone's curious: Akakiru, Darkness, and Storm all offer techniques that increase your AP when defeating enemies. You can cycle the Demonic Gate to get Lifesteal, which does the same, then grab Palm of Endless Beating as well. Top off by enchanting your weapon with Soulstealing.)

The only way I see it working is if Jill also sleeps around with a bunch of men as revenge and the MC doesn't take it seriously as cheating.
The other way is to make her official wife and convince her that the other chicks are just there to pump out babies, but then she's just going to bully and mistreat the other concubines and probably make their lives miserable.
You know, it's a bit of a bummer that we can't really do any crafting and permanently giving weapons to our minions or allies even if we pick the Blacksmith background.
We already have two parts in the story where it's possible to craft weapons (Harehama and Nanhou), but we never get the action to give these out to others even when Kosuke asks of you to make her a sword personally, and I'm reminded more of this fact after we get to see Rin using Godslayer in the latest trial temporarily.
Hopefully this is a thing that we can do later on in a future update.

Wait, you're right. Apparently Asura transformation is MC exclusive, so the transformation she'll have is the stock Midorikata one.
Which is a shame, since the training scene with Eldra when you have the Asura is about conquering your bestial nature, something that would fit Fang considering she suffers from bestial regression when in a gate... Can't we help Fang get the Asura transformation or something?
