Unless it’s possible to create the cure without getting the maximum score? I’m not sure if that was possible.

If I am remembering correctly creating the new antidote is a 6 Alchemy check. It is reduced by 1 when you identify the correct table and another 1 if you figure out the poison, which leads to the 4 Alchemy check.

So should be possible?

The variable that stores your score of 8 points in that trial should be enough, if I’m not mistaken. Unless it’s possible to create the cure without getting the maximum score? I’m not sure if that was possible.

The cure only gives you +1 to your score and alchemy alone isn't solely responsible for the score you get. It's entirely feasible to get less than 8 points even with the bonus point, so it can't be used to skip making a new permament variable without causing problems. The trial is separated into 4 points from guessing the right poison and 3+1 points for creating a cure for it.

Being reptile yokai helps reduce by one and in the 2nd trial asking big zhu about it also reduces by one.

But if you fail in the previous steps as in don't get the table or symptoms it reduces the score.

None at all from gameplay standpoint.
It doesn't set any permament variables and you get like 2 commerce from it. This also means that you aren't actually getting a stipend for it because Anon has merely deluded himself into thinking he coded commerce to periodically give you shards, rather than actually doing it.
