Which race do you guys think is the best aside from Monkey Yokai?

Human. You animals and spirits always try to take human form, because deep down you know we're simply superior to all of you. WE are Heaven's beloved children.

Jokes aside, it's probably Lunargoth since they have access to a race exclusive power up, runes. They get access to other types of power up, but only they can benefit from runes. Even with cool unc Yang making you able to use runes if you're from other races, you'd still miss out from getting the runes during the Dragon trial.

Best Mentor (imo) for...
Akakiru: Eldra (Because she's Akakiru)
Kiihakai: Yang (ofc)
Kurokonton: Flexible (I don't know yet)
Aoyusumu: Eldra (because you get Eldra's Healing + Aoyu Healing, as well as gettinf Yin-Yang balance, which synchronizes with Aoyu's balance bonus)
Midorikatai: Kaito (refer to my arguments on Beast Training's mechanisms)

Zodiac Foundation: Reliable, most easy to teach to your descendants later. Also great for Demonic Cultivator.
Flayed God Foundation: OP, literally will erase the factor of your aging in later books, so you won't get any weaker, at all.
Jade Chi: Great if your JDF, great if you're not.

Kurokonton: Human, Yokai
Aoyusumu: Oni, Kitsune
Midorikatai: Yokai, Oni

Kaito is actually redundant for Mido since everything in his kit can be learned by default with the midorikatai style. Only thing he gives is not aging as far as I know.There also isn't a "best" race. Each race just has certain racial events that add to differentiate them from each other.

- Humans get a free respawn once and is supposedly the best body for cycling chi.
- Lunargoths have their runes.
- Monkey yokai get by default a battle hardening technique as well as a bonus battle prowess bonus when evading attacks along with wukongs training.
- Oni get a greater boost when it comes to spirit based interactions like getting extra 20 extra AP from absorbing the wind spirit giving you +90 AP instead of the default 70AP. Oni skin spiritbrand also gives an AP bonus when jack drops a meteor on you before we fight him.Oni also get excorcism by default without a style requirement.
- Cat yokai have their cat eyes event allowing them to spot things easily without perception checks and have a battle prowess boost in agility based checks.
- Wolf yokai have their senses and are particularly susceptible to sound based attacks apparently. I did a wolf yokai run and on two occasions when faced with this it clocked it as a race specific event.
- Bovine Yokai give fortitude based battle prowess boosts etc.
- Reptile yokai is only race where events for it are kind of few and far between with the only mention of being able to advance towards your lineages might (dragon,sea serpent,drake or wyrm) so I dunno about this one.

Side note: I wonder if an Oni who has the Aoyusumu style and becomes a saint will have a following since we know apart from kitsunes,Oni aren't really trusted or welcomed everywhere so I wonder if that would be a problem down the line

I imagine (that our race truly had an influence on our followers) that, in that case, we would become a saint to the excluded and hated.

Nice concept tbh. Honestly the only thing stopping me from committing with an Oni Mc is because of this bc it would kind of suck especially if you're a chill oni that your race might hold you back from being a full fledged saint but with how AC is it would probably be played for comedic effect where people roast you. Either way since apparently we're going to get reactivity depending on our race I can see an oni mc suffering from this unironically.Its actually the race I enjoyed most along with a cat and monkey yokai though my default is cat yokai simply because I vibed with brass Tiger upon his introduction.

Well, in this hypothetical scenario, you would still be a complete saint, but with the only difference being that your followers would be different.

However, this could be a good thing because, as we would be their main saint, I imagine they would be much more hardworking and dedicated than any other follower (I just don't know what difference that would make).
