Honestly, I hope it gets banned. Aura Clash author is a deplorable person.
And how do you know this??. I swr people went off on what some guys with no self control said on a discord server and saw a Naruto meme with H1tler and automatically cast judgement on the guy. I'm not going to sit here judging the character of someone I personally don't even know or what they believe in over some stuff that happened on discord. Should it have been handled better definitely but let's be honest the game was already getting some hate from way back from things that frankly made no sense.

I don't think Aura Clash should be banned here because this is a pirate site not CoG, and I think no media deserve to be censored, no matter it's content. But saying that you don't personally know someone so judging that they're a bad person feels weak is just a wild take. I don't know Diddy personally, but from what other people say about him, I think he's a bad person. You don't have to be personally involved with someone to know that they're a bad person, that is, in fact, how criminal investigation works lol.
Also, the author is literally cultivating (lol) that kind of bigot mentality in his Discord server. Yes, to you, he's just sending a Naruto meme that mentioned Hitler, but think of what the implications of that are. In any other server with mods who aren't bigots, people making those kinds of jokes get a strict warning because those kinds of behavior aren't acceptable. So to have the author, the creator of the server, not even reprimand them, but even actively engage with them is really telling.
Just because you like the game doesn't mean you should be blind or wave off the author's obvious bigotry. You can absolutely enjoy an author's work and still think they're a horrible person. I love H.P. Lovecraft's worldbuilding and monsters, but I would never defend or wave off his racism just because I happen to enjoy his work.
I wonder how long till poma get targeted like AC. You can put racist or whatever as the reason even tho the story has nothing of it. But let's be real, it because it is too popular and some people are jealous of that. Shuting down competition, instead of writing is pretty sad. I hope they don't target poma next.

You said the author never reprimanded them but then what else is he supposed to do?.The link to the discord was taken down in the beginning of the year and yet like I said some guys with no modicum of self control on the internet on a discord server still caused issues at the end of the day. It's unfortunate but I'm not going to condemn the guy especially when some of the other stuff that was used to crucify the game flat out didn't even exist or was blown beyond proportion. Where did all this racism thing come from when again it's the same guys on the server one dude in particular that was spewing all this and the author is held accountable for this?. Let's agree to disagree and move on and like I said the thing i do agree with is that the situation could have been managed better but at the end of the day it is what it is.
I suppose you have not seen countless posts and comments on reddit (with proof) or gone through the author's code or maybe you are one of his fans. The author is a confirmed racist, homophobe and a misogynist. It is that plain simple. People like that shouldn't have their works featured neither on COG, COM or Itchio. But then again, if people want to read his stuff then go right ahead, full freedom in that but honestly I wouldn't touch his stuff with a ten foot pole. I suggest informing yourself without rose tinted glasses the next time you want to involve yourself in defending a man as deplorable as him.
We can not "agree to disagree" on rascism, misogyny and being a homophobe. Not to mention the "dog whistling" in his code.
I have simply this question to ask. Did the author make these remarks on the Choice of games forums themselves? Or were they made on the AC private discord servers? Don't get me wrong, I deplore racism, misogyny and homophobic sentimentality in general, however, as distasteful as it is, if it was done on their private discord servers and not on the actual Choice of games forum itself then why is this even a thing and a ban even placed? To penalize someone for remarks made on a private discord server seems redundant to me. Now if these comments were made on the CoG forums or was literally in the game itself then crucify him for all I care.
Dude the code is literally still on COG demos. Unless I'm ignorant then pls point out exactly where the misogyny is. You're out here blowing a gasket over an issue that has already been trashed out both here and on the forum but go off I guess. I literally said that his discord could have been better managed because in the end that's where the issue stemmed from in the first place. I have gone through that code in detail so please point out exactly where that specific mention of misogyny is. I'm going to drop this conversation at this point because the mods on here have already been clear on dropping this and saying stuff like I'm one of his fans is straight BS when I don't even use discord just cause I find the work interesting.
Look at the stuff that was levelled against the guy like him being as supposed r*cist and a h*m*phobe simply because he said he wasn't comfortable writing same gender romance. I'm not trying to argue so believe what you want. If you don't like his work then move on to something else but criticizing someone you don't know like this is one thing I can never get behind.

You're just like the mods on COG forums immediately condemning and banning anyone who doesn't immediately throw the guy into the fire so once again enlighten me on where exactly the misogyny, racism and homophobia is because I'm well aware of what these mean.

This is the thing. It was some people on his discord especially one guy in particular that caused this. The actual cause was because some randos on there who couldn't control themselves were causing issues on the cog forums which again how do you expect the author to regulate what a subset of people say when they leave that space. The misogyny stuff is admittedly something I also struggle to see and as the guy above says it's supposedly in the code and frankly I have read that code in great length and detail and even playing the game this never stuck out to me so I honestly don't know. The racial aspect is another thing I again have no clue where it's found in the game and apparently some people were upset that there was a race of white people from the moon(note the color of their skin is one of their defining traits) and also took issue with this when we have entirely different races and even humans existing in game. The one time race is an issue in a game that has different races is when a guy who is a human who you meet in later chapter takes issue with any other race if you aren't human but apparently this is also a bad thing.
Going back to the point the author never made such remarks on the cog forum and the forum was actually fun and rarely was there ever any issue. I spoke to the author on itch.io since the game is also being published there as well as on a self hosted site that he personally runs so the game is still in development.As for it still getting mods there are games from itch.io that are modded here so I guess it's possible.
Another thing that may complicate things is that recently itch de-indexed a whole bunch of games and are reviewing each one because of some stuff going on with payment processors and AC and Poma were seemingly caught in the crosshairs. It might be a little confusing but I'd advise you to visit the site to get the full picture of what I'm trying to say since I don't have the link at the moment
