Author of In the Future Crashes Out Over AI Allegations

Not sure if AI was used, but the author's reaction made me think they either are a minor or else hella immature. And THAT, coupled with them essentially saying "I don't want to polish anything" on the forum thread, made me wonder how they were going to handle criticism if they were to actually publish this through HG. Because the writing DOES need help, and it would've been pointed out by the paying customers leaving reviews. (I'm assuming they did want to publish it because I remember them talking about submitting it to HG)

And honestly, the people ardently defending the author on reddit are not doing them any favors. Because, once more, if they were to actually publish, no one would have protected them from bad reviews or cared about their mental state etc. And the "I don't need to edit anything" mentality is just outright toxic for a writer.

Exactly my thoughts! It reminded me so much of high school kids who go through meltdowns, and then vague post for weeks. It's genuinely so off putting to witness what I'm pretty sure is a child having a meltdown online like that. Made the drama go from hilarious to uncomfy in seconds.

If the author is lurking here, just take the L little bro and leave it alone. It's time to create a new account and focus on your english classes for a few years and stalking other authors coding work before taking a dive at IF again under a new penname without any AI use if you can't handle the hate that comes with it.

So if you weren't aware a recently finished wip (SHOCKER!!!) with questionable writing ( I couldn't get past chapter 1 because the second hand embarrassment was just too strong) just got a terrible review in r/hostedgames a couple days ago screenshots provided below 👇

And now almost a week later the Author updates the game just to place this disclaimer:

As a proper gossip girl I checked the username and it's an empty account leading me to believe that either the OP is lying or the author deleted all his comments.

Let the weigh in begin.

Thought it would be interesting... I was wrong. It's... Mid... It's not worth anything.. I didn't even go far when reading it. Personally, I don't care if A.I was used but if it was used and its still this bad of a story, I would be Hella disappointed... A.I couldn't even make it good but congratulations to them for finishing their book, more wins to them.

This entire thing is honestly so hilarious in retrospect, the writing is so dry and dull you'd think you've been literally teleported to the ****ing Sahara, and that's not mentioning the sudden whiplash inducing switches from place to place or literally anything relating to the characters because none of them ever really produce complex emotion or any sort of humanity throughout this thing, like, they're all cntrl+c anime stereotypes, it's so obviously AI and the author screaming out that it isn't is only digging his grave deeper in the earth.

At this rate he should just own it and move on and learn how to write, probably would make his situation somewhat better I guess
