you can use mod menu, just don't use equipment afterwards, because using equipment bug your game. someone reported this same problem and after removing the equipment, he was able to play flawlessly.

Actually, using equipment is not the problem.... But an equipment that decrease any stats (-1 strength, agility etc) will turn your original stats into negative value... Then, you won't be able to win a single battle

it depends on the amount of image, most twin IFs don't have many images, this one does.

Also, it seems as if you must never equip any equipment before using the mod menu, because it doesn't matter if you switch equipment, it just always breaks
