  • As an old reader, back in the days of the great tournament, I can confidently say that choice of games and hosted games just isn't what it used to be. Sure it's been in the decline for some years now, but right now, it's just downright horrible.. Stories like path of martial art and aura clash having potential, but would rather be a famous wip forever, with their Patreon account and all, which, honestly, no one really cares about anymore, rather than be released. Sometimes I just want to quit the whole thing, but being an old reader, remembering when I use to read "Hero rise, the Prodigy" in my grandma's house. I always find myself going back, but quickly disappointed by the quality of stories I see. It's really sad, like seeing a huge part of your childhood going down the drain, turning into something else. Honestly, the only story I really care about a bit now is the zombie exodus series, which honestly doesn't even feel the same when I read the new updates.

i totally feel you, it’s rough seeing something you were super into turn into something that doesn’t hit the same way anymore. i miss those awesome stories too, and it’s tough holding onto those good old childhood vibes

I pinpointed it. What's missing is management. In tournament you feel like your in control because you can manage your actions or fief. In Zombie Exodus you can again manage yourself or your survivors. What's missing in this new IF are the questions of.. how should I spend my day? This means your MC is active instead of reactive. Undying Fortress is abomination of an IF for example. I don't know how it even got an OK for publishing as an IF.

But IF back then are not all that great either. I remember getting baited by first three chapters of goodness then paying for it only to play point and click on the fourth chapter( I'm looking at you choice of rock star)
