You know I just came back from my break from choice of games and choice of mods, mostly because of how bad the games bring released now were. They just lacked the touch and creativity of OG games like "The choice of rebels" and "The great tournament". Only to come back from my break and find the choice of mods public chat room upsidedown and things in general getting worse, checked out the latest game released, some hero genre game named, "The Guardians" or something, and I was like "Another heroes of tomorrow" in other words, another lame, repetitive flop. Honestly speaking, being a vet reader of choice of games, and hosted games, I can well tell you guys that I don't see a revive coming here. They might as well just close down their S.h.i.t, cause at this point, all they do is just flat out straight trash. I think i am going to go back on my break, this time indefinitely, cause am really tired of always coming back disappointed to find things only worse than when I left, like getting stabbed over and over again in the sane spot. Yeah, I think am done. I think this might just be it for everything, guys. This might just be it.

I don't blame you, i also want to just stop... But the cogdemos/wip website make me cling into that hope. That a good HG/choice of game will appear, but i don't blame anyone who taking break indefinitely or just stop.

There are a handful of games I do enjoy being made but are still WIP such as Choice of Rebel's 2, Aura Clash, Path of Martial Arts, even some like College Tennis: Origin Story and Spice of heart I believe it is called, also some like The Wayhaven Chronicles and SoH oh and and a few others I am looking forward to such as Community College Hero 3 and Breach: Chicago War Zone. Oh, I can't forget Apartment 502, Infamous and This racing game coming out in the near future Velocity.Sure some of the recent ones have been subpar but that is no use giving up on the whole thing, be patient some good games are coming.

Well if you looking for a complete game, then tough luck my friend. There's nothing but pure unadulterated a*s since like two or three years ago, except maybe a few that piqued my interest. For example, Hunter : The Reckoning and Beast of Glenkildove, and surprisingly, a corny piece of romance IF called Love Verse. Not enough to make me hit the play again button like Keeper series or Breach Archangel, but quite interesting nonetheless.

Sadly, lots of interesting new stories are still in WIP phase. When Live Gives You Lemon, Apartemen 502, Infamous, PoMA, Dao Ascension, Special Agent Monster (Mainly because I'm a sucker for Yandere RO trope), and of course Autumn Winds, the latest "Aura Farm" IF if you pick the Perfect Red Dragon Marquess route.

Hmm, I agree with you that the new Wip is rarely great anymore, but that doesn't mean there aren't still masterpieces worth trying, like dao ascension here you are the strongest and they know how to use it so good also the iron king's heir as one of the good new ones I like the most the love with the fiancée also I like the dragon's covenant it's so good even though They didn't focus on the political tricks and manipulations that I loved so much. Also I like strings of fate: origins it's fun try even though it's not peak but it's enjoyable also the same on the marked as for press play it's sooo peak my favourite Although it's about singing, which isn't my favorite topic and I still loved it very much in press play next we have the eternal library which is soo enjoyable but have some problems like The logical events and the hints are placed, but these are mistakes that can be overlooked in favor of the enjoyment of the experience. Also tainted souls: fables & myth - the bonded awakening soo peak I love the revenge path even though it's make you sometimes do stupid things without consequences, but this can be overlooked. Also my number 1 peak season of shadows it's about be noble and will be betrayed by your fiancée and face problems that will arise from this.

Speaking of Breach. Hows the development going anyway? It's been years since the sequel started being worked on, and the CoG forum have it as their "Soon" game

From what I gather Breach 2 is moving along great and I hope a new update will be available soon. I also am pretty sure that the new game will be done this year some time.

The last update on Chicago War Zone was an entire year ago in May 2025 iirc, not a peep from the dev since then, wonder how it's going

Eh can't really blame em. Breach was always very detailed when it came to choices. And the RPG mechanics prob don't help with making the coding any faster lol, wouldnt be surprised if breach comes out with almost a million and a half words.

this gives the same vibes as when YouTubers uploaded a weekly video ranting about how *** YouTube was and how they were leaving the platform just to come back next week and rant again

I think that the game is already at that point now. The last update was like late 2025 or early 2026 but i believe a new update is not far off then the book will be finished and the writer will be on to the third and final book to the series. The first book he finished a bit faster because at that time it was him being max and one other guy but now it is just him doing it plus he had some serious troubles mostly with some serious weather issues and such but he is proceeding on well with the project from all the things said on his discord and patreon.

I'll add to the CoG rant. I pretty much just want the Breach sequel, the last book in the Evertree series, and the next part of Jolly Good. I agree that most new stuff has been anywhere from underwhelming to disappointing. Aside from the aforementioned unfinished classics, I have been reading other favorites of mine. My Day Off Work, Choice of Robots, Choice of Magics, Ironheart, The Great Tournament, MetaHuman Inc., etc. The originality of these is rather striking in comparison and they don't try to jam ideologies down my throat. You're right to mention the influx of superhero books. They have been doing it with the magical school trope as well. And there was a time where CoG was off the rails but HG still had some heavy hitters supplementing it. Now they're both stagnant. It's a shame because the ChoiceScript engine, while underpowered, is an incredible tool. And yet they lock it behind their publishing unless you want to give them $20,000 (last checked in 2023, could be more now) to license it. And now that they have shown that they are willing to go after third-party/WIP game hosts, I don't see that changing. It's the only thing stopping me from using it for my own project.
