Just tried it, testing the roots is there a certain best? I tried a few and got the heavenly fire, Yin, which the mom said it’s not ordinary. Then the Primordial which she didn’t know what it was and then the Chaos which she took the MC to a store to find out about. Anything better than the chaos or primordial?
I did not know about the chaos one but there is one where a lightning dragon called tianlei tries to kill you

Just by looking at the buffs, Legendary Primordial seems like the best with only Chaos surpassing it when rng is on your side.

There is also the Heaven Defying root which has two grades, the lower grade will have Tianlei notice your presence and tries to kill you while the higher grade will make him unable to find you. Interestingly, this is the only root which have different buffs depending on the grade instead of same buffs with higher increase.

There's heaven defying.
Also Void.
And a legendary time root, idk if that one is better.
Also for every element I think there's a heavenly version.
Some of the trash versions look interesting as well. Like Trash Metal you have a sword waiting inside your core or some such.
According to the mom Trash Water is the worst root, but idk.
Trash Wind root has you essentially imprisoning this old demon dude in your core I think.

How good is that game?
Eternal Ascension? There's literally no content so far (from what I saw. Idk.) Just the start, some choices, skills, and then getting your root. But its sort of fun.

Based just on what skills are hinted/you can gain at the start- part of me thinks it'll be super fun once more content is added. Idk how much freedom we'll have story wise, but skill wise and character build up wise I think it'll be awesome maybe.

I think it'll be more of a power fantasy than anything- which is sort of to be expected. Thats what Cultivation mangas are usually all about.

Idk about the other roots, but I feel like Trash & Legendary Roots would have lots of face slapping in the future. Perhaps. But idk.

The legendary roots are better than the heavenly roots

Really? That’s a surprise tbh usually heavenly is higher in cultivation stories so I expected same here tbh
I thought so too, but I guess Legendary is like heaven defying or smth in a way. Greater than can be comprehended. I feel like calling it Legendary is slightly underwhelming though. Idk. Perhaps that shall be changed- or we'll get used to it.

In my opinion, (thinking abt a power fantasy) the best ones probably are (legendary versions ofc) primordial, chaos, yin, yan, fire, wood and. There's the ice one too but i think that is the yin one. There isn't a "absolute one" bc there will probably have a lot of builds and styles of playing. Personally i really liked the heaven defying premise, we are unbound by the heavens, destiny and death, we have literally 9 lives that reset every fight and the heavens can't affect you in any way. It seems like the perfect root for a mc in a power fantasy like that. so basically it probably means that we can achieve godhood without obstacles since we aren't limited by the heavens and destiny.

I partly think the time root will be most OP. Mainly because it reminded me of a novel I read 500 chapters of called "Monarch of time" (very on the nose) 😂

I thought too at first glance (until it basically only gives a 60% check in agility.) but i think it would be way too op if it just gave 100% evade chance. But would still be very op if someone focused in a speed build

The thing is because it says that essentially time could sort of pass slower for us or maybe fully be paused- we could just have moments where we increase our strength while the world is frozen.
Depends on how the creator does things with th mechanics- but it could be super OP. Like freezing time in a fight. Or speeding up time around ourselves so we absorb more qi. Something of that sort.

Funny how in the heavenly version you go with the traditional fight against the heavens trope getting stronger with tribulations, suffering the wrath of heavens (debuffs) while in the legendary youre so heaven defying that the heavens dont even know you exist lmao, youre out there bending the laws of the universe, achieving godhood and heavens are like "hm, must have been the wind".

Playing through POMA reminds me of reading through a CN webnovel or manhua, in a very specific way: starts off really great, but suddenly the plot deviates sharply. Like someone already said in this thread, it feels like it deviated from what it was meant to be or supposed to be.

I know POMA is inspired by CN works, but I just found it funny that even down to that classic sharp plot turn near the end is included too.

Not to mention, it's annoying that the narrative kept hyping the PC up as the ultimate best reincarnation of the god emperor, only for the story to still favor Ruo. Like what?

The payoff's been kinda underwhelming, but of course, that's just my opinion and maybe it will change since this is still a WIP but right now, I'm not that excited for POMA anymore which is a shame since I still think Mei's one of my top favorite ROs in any WIP lol.

You know I’ve thought about it and I figured another reason is he spoiled too much honestly. So people compare it to AC and honestly that’s Anon does that better than Niki. What I’m referring to is the world building in cultivation novels you hear about these figures in Poma we literally are meeting S ranked early. We are in a set location in a Sect and aren’t exploring world like in CN MCs. I feel like being in the sect is quite restricting tbh. Niki kinda failed the basic show, don’t tell premise, he told us so much lore and there’s still mysteries don’t get me wrong but compared to AC which we know how it works ranks wise I literally have no idea on certain people and such. It feels like AC MC has done so much more than Poma, like yes AC has a main base of their village but they’re exploring the world and it actually feels alive. I feel like with Poma everything revolves around the sect, go on short mission return to sect quickly rinse and repeat like up until the Expedition after that is where it goes downhill fast for some people. I don’t know how he’s going to stretch this to 3 books, if he’s still planning on the full 3 it’s going to be a difficult task. I hate to see it slandered everywhere mostly MC and I think more Cultivation IFs will keep releasing that will point out this weakness of the MC. I’m glad people are fully noticing the Ruo glaze as a day 1 Ruo hater, who used to get dragged on the discord hating on Ruo feels good more people are seeing. I used to always point out the Ruo is the real MC jokes that he said it so much I stopped believing they were jokes. I am still holding out hope he sees the slander and will make a few corrections once he’s done with main story.

The plotline changed but the story structure remains the same causing this dissonance between whats being told to us and whats actually happening.

anyway i Just wanted you to know youre not the only one not excited.
