Then are you saying the entire decision to go after and destroy the array or not is pointless? Like what is the point of the war even if this is some sort of inevitability.

I'm not going to get into how I feel enforcing a generic cultivator blob destroys the uniqueness of the setting. I think niki made up his mind and you guys probably don't care either.

The way niki will walk back established canon on a whim is maddening from a storytelling pov.

"Meridians are a necessary mutation for cultivation that happen in Qi rich worlds." > "He Gang and Ruo get meridians now screw you"

"IE is poison and sucks the potential out of your body. Good thing I reached you early enough that it's not irrecoverable" > "Actually you can just heal it later anyway. It's just expensive"

I saw an ask in tumblr few days back. He said he will adding new ROs since some of them are unavailable and Ruo is slow *** burn? I think the ask specified about male ROs. Atm we have Mei, Xiwen and Ruo if Caihong is axed as a RO. Idk wtf is going on with Tigress.

Any insights about why such obviously stupid decisions are being made? Wu fraud aside 70% focus on mei, 29% on Ai and 1% on other including the once most beloved tigress eludes me.

Ruo is the last hope of the Empire, Mei and Ai are polar opposites in morals, Caihong is a direct consequence of Yichen's genocide, tied to Shen Long Mu and Ruo's destined enemy basically.

Tigress is just sort of there by comparison.

It's funny to read stuff like this while the game itself actually does great numbers on patreon charts, and I don't even know the situation on boosty.
I do wonder when you stopped playing the game to be so objectively correct about the state of the story, hope you will share your insight upon it.

Most ROs that never shined with content won't get any of it at this point - what will their fate be I have no idea.

That actually sucks. Can't say I like it when someone is advertised as an RO and is shafted later but I at least wish niki was more upfront on this subject.

Nicki can't write routes. POMA would've been better if it was a novel and not an IF. It's clear that he has one specific ideal of how the story should be ( male, romancing Mei, being a villain, could say being a rebel as well) and he sucks at deviating from that ideal to account for different choices or play styles. Which is the entire point of an IF.

From what I gathered, It's written to invoke the feeling of frustration and hopelessness (niki is russian so I guess the tradition of writing **** like this is still inline with him)

The game has a lot of branches, really, one of the good things about Poma is all the variables you can achieve with your character, to the point of every reader having their own ideas about MC. Is just that, due to Niki's severe femdom fetish, he just constantly writes about Mei while other RO's suffer the consequences. My only hope is that whatever he plans for book 2 - he will not repeat the same **** he did with the ROs. Jinlai's lineup actually looks pretty good (and not skewed to one character), but I will have to wait and see

yh cus she has a more valid reason to be more important than mei or ai. the polar opposites thing is meh while tigress is likely gonna be the norths ruler (i think thats what they call the barbarians territory) and from what i know,its a decent sized one and she got something special she inhaled? absorbed? dk but since niki is kinda ify on making the continuation of poma after mc reaches nascent soul,tigress will likely hold more importance than ai or mei in the poma world strictly,excluding the outsiders and qi users and tangs and basically every op person and such.

You can invoke that feeling without introducing and discarding interesting conflicts we are just started to get invested in. Rn you are telling me the traditionalist Tangs are a doomed effort, and that Lady Butterfly's scheme is basically for naught since the world is going to get bombarded with cultivators after fusing to CR. We getting to be involved in the war is one of the stories main pitches, but the war is actually pointless?

Likewise if what you say is true then almost the entire early game world building will go down the drain after everyone becomes a cultivator and gets their own Dao. Is that a good addition to the story? I don't think so but YMMV

Two of the main ambition options relate to freeing or oppressing peasants. Mei is an alchemist and the person in line to inherit He Clan after He Gang, Ai is the only person so far we know is capable of double cultivation. Idk what Tigress artifact is but she doesn't seem all that relevant.

If he plans to do what I think (judging from the discussions on the server), all the reveals and lore drops about the outside world actually make pretty good sense for the story.
I think, what's gonna happen is that our world will somehow fuse with Celestial Realm, basically starting a "soft reboot" to a lot of things, and I think it will be for the better.
It will allow our character to actually start to properly cultivate, without erasing the world (that will no longer feel like a stepping stone you must grow past (since it's now a part of the bigger picture) or the characters you might have grown attached to, while also introducing an actual interesting big conflict, with different factions that invaded your home
