This is some random guy tens of thousands of years older then MC and has been a cultivator from the start, of course he'd be way ahead.
This is like being upset that there are Immortals out there who can kill Wu heir with a thought.
It's so over...Guess it's time to replay aura clash or something.
I'm upset abt how he invested in making a whole damn text abt some random fkn immortal guy getting a sloopy but can't make a scene where people are like "wow, wu heir literally obliterated all the top fighters until now, that guy is pretty sick! Omg he makes me shiver my timbers" he just doesn't want to. I'm almost developing a devil
Oh man, are you me? Dropped it years ago, when the MC started saying “there’s no other option” bs when there literally was. The start was peak though.
This is cool. Wu Heir's cultivation outside poma still screams potential to me. If Niki insists on another MC, then he would do best to place the story million years later when Wu Heir is already a god. Although im not really a fan of multiple player set protagonists in a single universe since It tends to backfire sooner or later. Dragon age tried this and it was kinda nice hearing about your MC, but i never really moved on from the warden from the first game. And i remember the hate Bioware got cuz Hawke was so different in Inquisition from what they imagined him as.
Ruined my favorite Hawke smh, I can barely tolerate them having other side characters in the new story setting. Never the same character. Pretty sure Niki did say he had ideas for different stories in the Poma universe. It has to be so far removed from Poma, that Wu Heir is only mentioned in passing. Then again, it could always be another smaller world. Which I have zero interest in, give me a Qi rich world.
Honestly the problem with this cultivation type stories is that due to the massive time frame needed to reach the top **** gets boring and painfully repetitive quick.
So Wu heir being the reincarnation of a god and being able to grow very quickly is actually kinda a good thing. Not to mention the whole Tang Wei being hated set up is probably something Nicky won't be able to match in whatever story he brings in next.
Guess it's just me since I prefer Wuxias in general but something about reading that draft was kinda boring to me.
Ngl, if the guy is passionate abt the story, he can make it long asf but i wouldn't care if it felt it was progressing
Then you have Martial Peak for something that went way too long, like just end it already.
Not just this, But i cant really hype myself more after playing as the literal clone of a god. I mean, what else can top this? Niki already did a 100 in terms of character potential, anything else in terms of power progression in a story will feel underwhelming. Thats why i love when stories always maintain a set level for the strongest and build sequels around it instead of making characters be stronger than the previous protagonists.
Niki really is just bored and done with poma isn't he.
And now i can't help but worry that he'll never finish poma because it seems he's losing interest over it.
Pretty sure he’s been burned out of Poma since late 2024, when he tried that first Wip. It didn’t go past the demo, but he came back with Jinlai, which he’s passionate about. I have no doubt book 1 will be finished, it’s everything after. Especially with him taking breaks to work on Jinlai. Seeing those drafts, he clearly still likes cultivation stories, so the one conclusion is he really dislikes Wu Heir lmao.

Though it might be a contributing factor, I don't think it's just burnout that's plaguing niki. nor do i think it's the main factor. I think niki genuinely reached somesort of an impase in poma's development. In that poma's story (as in wu heir's story) and poma's worldbuilding (which has been getting more and more attention and development as time progress) is now no longer in sync. To progress the story as it was intended further means that parts of the worldbuilding needs to be adjusted or retconned to fit and vice versa. And from the leaks on patreon and discord that we've been getting it's clear to me that he's been struggling on choosing which one should he prioritze and which one he needs to sacrifice. He's still passionate as you said, about creating a cultivation IF. that's why he made that draft of another xianxia. And that's what worries me. Because that draft is him testing whether or not a different story can work with the same worldbuilding. That to me is niki choosing poma's worldbuilding over poma's story.
Seriously? Just a question without spoilers for anyone who is reading or plans to read... After the final tournament, does the MC continue his behavior since his "evolution" or does he change?
