No joke, I am writing one lol. It's at about 100k~. That's actually why I do comment about stats and variability so much, since I myself am trying to find a way to make it as variable as possible without making it too long. Can't say I'm succeeding though, since those 100k are all chapter 1 and it's not even finished.
Could've made it easier on myself, but I decided to not only implement a cheat mode where you can max everything at the start, but I am also trying to reflect that in every check. Also maybe making my magic system flexible (Mage the Ascension style) and giving the MC time magic is not really conducive to that.
But I guess that's how it is - you either try to make it as perfect as possible and sit on it for years without releasing or you just wing it like Niki and rewrite a hundred times while farming that sweet validation and patreon bucks.

The prologue with character creation is up on the CoG forum. But it's just that - character creation and some nice prose for introduction.
Haven't updated it since I posted it in May. Since then almost finished chapter 1, but tbh I only wrote during the summer cause of uni, work and just general life issues. Slowly getting back into it, but at the moment I think I'll just yolo and post it in March or smth.
Here, if you wanna check it out you are welcome to. But I warn you, it's heavy on words, magic and metaphysics. But combat is definitely part of it.

So yes, if you think my criticism of Niki is bad, you should see what I do to a close IRL friend.
