Could be a good explanation but, for me, it still is insufficient to explain such a jump. Take LDQ(Sorry, I can't) as a prime example; Her Immortal-grade mantra is exactly what someone here purposed as theory for Tigress, allowing LDQ do steal bodily parts of beasts/MAs to increase her own capacities.
She needed the Immortal-grade Mantra with LB support(Proper cultivation, better concoctions...etc.), plus a Heavenly Physique and the Purity Draining Noodle that allows her to increase her BP to, say, past 90%...
All that to reach in this range.

I simply assume Tigress will be stronger from the starting events as in early stuff with her would also show her doing better than she was before I blame mei mei for it all tho if only niki put efforts on everyone else rather than mei mei it wouldn't be like this.
