Path of martial arts: leaked sneak peaks, and discussing thread

Honestly, I'm surprised there's still no option to give the money we earned (which could be millions as @Xclusivegamer said) to the Wu Clan or Chao like an investment project.

Cause right now there's just no use for that money except for buying trinkets and stuff we don't even need for extra Qi. I think the max we can even try to spend is that 100k bid for that Qi Stone which we lose anyway. And as Chao said, 700k is a solid amount of money which would help the clan, so why can't I just give pops the 2-3 mil I have lying in my spatial ring - not like I get to spend it anyway.

Maybe with the new update and the new Qi Fraud method Nicky will think about it at least. Come to think of it, he seriously needs to add some new items into the game, because you only get actual cool and useful stuff if you sign your life away to Yichen.

Spending half a million Tigress then getting bitched immediately after for a qi stone doesn't sit right with me

Yeah it's a general problem with PoMA - what you can do is often torn between gameplay and the narrative that Nicky considers "possible".

It's not only the being perpetually broke curse, it's also the stats and checks (although as we approach the endgame those have been getting much better), what the Wu Heir knows or doesn't, and also just our general freedom of choice.

There's a lot of examples of conflicting possibilities - for money there's the Tigress half-a-mil spend and then still being treated as a broke bum, for stats is the infamous sword thing and then passing 100 checks just a short while later (or even the 100 max YG checks and then the 200 checks with Tigress), for knowledge there's the random genius moments from the Wu Heir like in the Wu Dong side-quest where you can make a Sherlock level deduction randomly just to aurafarm but then later very often the Wu Heir just decides to be the idiot in the room and just make the most midwit statements imaginable. And freedom of choice only exists when Nicky feels like it should.

To be honest I think that you give the player the opportunity to grind stats and recources freely, you should also reward them for that as much as you can instead of still keeping an arbitrary "possibility" line which can never be crossed, barring the moments where you feel generous.

The auction moment is the most grievous example of this because it happens right after a conflicting thing. It's obvious that story-wise Nicky wants to show us that there's some mysterious extremely rich character that also knows about Qi, and that's the whole point of the interaction, but why not make it a multi-tier bet at least? Like in the end we might not get the stone, but let us at least get to a million just to be ridiculous and to get some satisfaction.

My main point is that there's an infinite amount of ways to both make the player feel rewarded through some scene and interaction, and still move the story along the way you want it to. But sadly Nicky often just opts into not allowing players to do something to avoid any kind of inconsistency, which ironically creates inconsistencies in the process.

You guys are hyperfixating on this damn auction qi stone for no reason and it's getting exhausting. You're going to reload when your 1000000 qi stone returns like 40qi anyway? The point is the man has infinitely more gold than you, reinforcing it with a bidding battle doesn't add much to the scene, though I guess it could be a way to get some prestige if you're not bidding in Ruo's special room.

What I think the auction actually needs is more artifacts. We should get an opportunity to get decked out with various choices. I found it silly to lecture Tigress about wasting her money early in the auction when we get like... 2 items tops.

The event ends up feeling overhyped since there's so little to do. I think more items would be a huge benefit. Apparently we have no other chances to get equipment anyway. My poor boy will be wearing stock houtian gear even in the next realm when Ruo upgrades everything lol
