I mean tbf he was one of the first to put faith into Wu Heir, but would not say friend or comrade. Just two people seeing a benefit in each other. If MC became useless he’d disappear.
Yes. Only Ai, more or less, fell into this category. Unfortunately, she wasn't that useful. I mean, she gave some EXP and even a bit of Qi, but nothing more.

Wasn't the benefit of her route to get stronger through copulation? Something like "one night equals a week of training", with the effect being even better for the MC. But for some reason, they only did it two or three times in months. What's the point of this? Like, even if there were no benefits, they still should have done it often, just look at the Thunderfaller example. At the very least, I think Nicky should have added an EXP bonus every week, "Additional EXP from relationship with Ai", or something like that.

The closest guy to Todo there is Chu Muchen if you've impressed him. But idk if I would call him a "friend" of Wu Heir even then

Wu Dong is cool on my book. You just can't meet him often, but I get the sense he's a real one ever since he joins you against your cousins in the childhood scene.

It’s funny because Thunderfaller randomly met someone in one chapter and he became a ride or die bro lol coming in for the rescue and such

The author should stop adding things to the plot that he won’t actually include in the game. That’s what makes people call the protagonist a fraud. Because the author says the protagonist is capable of some great feat, or that he has a certain level of strength and talent, but in reality, that’s never shown in the game’s lore — or rather, it’s never shown in the game itself. So the events end up not matching the character’s supposed strength. We end up with a character who is sometimes heavily buffed, but in the story, he doesn’t even do half of what he’s supposed to be capable of. So either the author should nerf the game mechanics, or he should start taking the character’s potential seriously.

For example, if the game allows us to have 20k strength, it doesn't make sense that in one of the final fights — by that point in the game — there's a strength check of, say, 13k, and we barely manage to overpower the opponent. When in reality, we’ve got another 7k just sitting there doing nothing. So either he should cap our strength at just enough to barely scrape by, or he should actually start taking seriously the kind of power the character can have.

Another thing is the path with the frozen girl, where we can have *** with her — which is supposed to be the equivalent of a week of training — but in the actual plot of the game, it changes absolutely nothing. Only she is affected. And in the end, it doesn’t matter — she still dies.

Then there's the Asura path, where so far we’ve only managed to trigger it once. Fine. But we haven’t used any of the Asura’s powers, which it seems like the author just forgot about — even though he himself wrote that the true power of the Asura lies in its abilities, not just the physical stats.

And that’s the thing, man. That’s what gets tiring about this game. For example, Aura Clash makes the Protagonist actually use what he has — and there’s no excess power going to waste while he randomly loses. If someone’s stronger than him, it’s because that character is stronger. Period.

I said it before and I will say it again, this game would've been many times better if main character was from a poor background with no talent, a typical weak to strong or from nothing to something trope.

Ngl game was way more interesting before named arts became irrelevant. We could upgrade them by doing certain things like at one point killing the bandit guy and taking his heart blood for demon finger or opening monkey gods gift for void step I thought that was pretty unique.

Now we don't do any proper dao learning for leveling up even. The new system has you spending some vague "experience" points so that you can use what you already learned killing the rebels like ???

I think the same. I mean, in Aura Clash there are still times when the mechanical power and the lore power diverge in the game, but it's only a few times and the effect is minimal. On the contrary, it's more common to see the Thunderfaller striving for every scrap of power. Even if it's something as simple as an unelaborated quote, such as " a research I've done in the past" or "an idea for later", it still makes for enjoyable and satisfying reading. Every victory feels earned, even the conditional ones.

Not to mention how good it feels to win a fight without a scratch. Nicky is a good author, but sometimes he doesn't seem to understand that he's making a game with choices and stats. If in a fight you make an AGI stat check and the MC passes, but somehow the opponent accelerates a lot for another attack, just make another stat check to let the MC dodge, don't make the attack inevitable. The argument that "the MC shouldn't have stats of such magnitude at that point in history" doesn't apply precisely because it's a game with choices, I can very well play with CHARM at zero and maximize AGI or something like that.
