I agree in parts. But I think he was probably telling the truth about being able to use his full power in a few years... That said, I believe this estimate was made considering that he didn't know at the time that he was in a barren world and that for someone who lives with Immortals and gods, a few years could very well mean decades or centuries.
Agreed, the way i see it the only thing that makes ruo character powerful enough to challange post expedition mc and therefore makes his character interesting is that he's a dao child, the favored son of heaven and all that. Taking that away and making his character weaker would also weaken the story in my opinion. It makes poma less interesting
Yeah and IDC remove Ruo and nothing changes for my MC. I’m not just trying to hate Ruo just to hate (I am), it’s just feels like a forced Rival just making someone the opposite of MC in a non smooth way. Ruo whole existence is author/ plot armor literally first off the loved by heavens bs makes no sense he should actually be viewed as an abomination tbh. Think about it dragons are literally the favored by the heavens got slaughtered and souls put into Ruo or whatever he should be an abomination not ****ing loved idc what excuses are made. Oh he conveniently has been growing his Dao without knowing oh cmon plot convenience. How come he also has this special physique too really? Oh this guy is just special out of everyone he’s just favored totally. This guy from this backwater not real cultivation is just this special once in a million year person okay. His existence makes me sick because it felt like oh MC needs a rival let me create an OP mr perfect over here. At least MC can be explained and it’s still a struggle. I love rival characters when it feels like they are believable and earned. Why does he deserve to get everything MC has plus more just because he has a role to fill. Like He Gang who’s an antagonist and a slight advisory got Qi and yes I’m upset, but feels like it’s going to be a stepping stone moment for Wu Heir. With Ruo it’s like whatever MC does or gets Ruo will too just because. Off topic lil rant inside my hate for Ruo. Make Poma less interesting lol more people would stop playing if Mei was removed than Ruo **** both, but Ruo more.
I agree With one point you're making here in that ruo feels like a forced rival. I disagree with pretty much everything else.
A lot of what you're complaining about here are simply not yet explained in game ie niki hasn't written them in yet. As for the other things that have been explained. The whole ruo growing his dao without him knowing what it is, well it's not like he's the only one in poma that can and has done exactly that. And quite literally who else is supposed to be able to challenge the wu heir at this point. The way i see it the in universe explanation for ruo's whole existance is that he's placed in poma's world and is made to be that powerful by the will of the heaven's and such is that so he can serve exactly one purpose and that is to stop wu heir from becoming more powerful, to stop the second coming of tang wei. That for me is a good enough cope.
This would only be the case if Ruo was a good rival, which he isn't by a long shot. Honestly, I think this is the only issue that Nicky doesn't plan to give us an advantage, not even with the new mechanics and changes.
Seriously, just imagine, ignoring the future plot and deeper changes, if Ruo had never appeared, would the story be much different now? Apart from the moment when the MC ascends to EH, Ruo never had an impact on the MC's development or his character, the threat of Ruo, again excluding the first encounter, never made the MC try harder.
Simply put, the Rival/Nemesis is the second most important character in a story, even more so than the Master and the Romance. The Rival exists for the sake of the Protagonist's development, in many ways. So far, apart from his initial appearance, Ruo has acted more like an annoying character who pops up periodically to say something stupid and then disappears.
I'm not ignoring the scenes of Ruo showing off and the MC getting shocked or tense, on the contrary, it's because they exist that I say this, because they're just flavor scenes, with no real impact. I mean, the MC literally sees Ruo defeating a LH while he was just an EH, gets stunned and... then what? Decides to try harder? Creates a new training regimen? Does the fight give him a subtle inspiration? No, none of that, the story goes on as if nothing had happened and the MC carried on with his life without any change.
Why would anyone from outside world will bother making ruo a cultivator since they are against using blood droplet artifact to destroy array ?
I guess maybe they will find someway like mei is trying to doing it
If mei manages to do it then i guess it wouldn't be hard for tangs to do it either though they will need body of cultivator to do that i guess.

Yeah that sound about right. I agree with a lot of the points you're making here in that ruo as rival is not that well written and the lack of acknowledgement of wu heir's growth in game. But the game is also not done there's still so much left unfinished and even now niki is reworking the fight system so as to make it so that opponents acknowledge just how powerful the wu heir is. So i say have some patience and trust that the process.
Yes. This is the main reason why I don't have pure hatred like our friend @God . Things can change, and in fact, I hope they do, because, I'll be honest, if Ruo didn't always act with such disdain and undeserved arrogance, I'd like him. At the very least, I really wish Nicky would do a better job of working the character Ruo.

No, non, nein... In fact, it's still a narrative tool to explain the MC's "slow progress", leaving the real instrument for progress for later... But now, it's not a half-baked excuse.
Before, it simply didn't make sense. Why would Tang Wei leave Qi Manuals in a world without Qi? What's more, a world where he planned to kill practically the entire population? It was simply illogical. Now, although TW still doesn't give you the instrument directly, he at least gives you a promise that makes sense.
Acc to @Arlonb scs, TW says he will leave Qi manuals for our sake soon enough. Which means he went out of his way to provide qi manuals for us around the world before his death.
Speaking of the scs, my friend sent me some more. However, I'm a little reluctant to share these, as they're not just a change of mechanics or a retcon. To be fair, it's practically a spoiler, my friend sent it to me because he knows I don't mind, but I don't know about you people.

That's what I said tho. He dies short after so like he said, he creates us opportunities to get qi manuals right before his death. I said he creates us qi manuals which is wrong. He gives us a promise and he says he'll do it soon but soon he's dying. So he does it before dying, before or after giving us our body ig. I wouldn't look too much into it for logic, at the end of the day he's not a dying man, he's a dying god. So doing what he says would be simple enough.
