who knows the code to increase months in aura clash before we go for the trials
stats.scene.temps.months
(i think the ac thread is dead)
Thank heavens. I couldn't bear to go into the thread and see endless, out-of-place discussions. The idea was good, but it failed miserably, which is a shame, AC deserves better than this.

I remember this thread had barely 30 pages when i first came here, it would only go until the expedition introduction, but it was actually pretty fast to reach that point, nicky added somethings before expedition since then

One big flaw with the new poma system is mc isn't recognised or referenced, I mean
A lot of people would watch his fight in the arena (including his future opponents) but at the end we end up with, he's shocked at your power or speed 🧘‍♀️
After seeing this in 5 straight fights it quickly became boring
Still better than receiving unnecessary wounds tho
From what I'm seeing, there's a prestige stat being tracked again so we're probably going to see Wu Heir's fame take more effect in the future

Lack of further content to discuss. Unlike Niki, Anon deliver his updates in big batches, though that does mean he'll take longer to deliver. Plus, he's currently reworking the game to run on another engine (I forgot what it's called) and not ChoiceScript since he got booted by CoG. That adds to the load. It'll become active again once the update is out (projected to be before Halloween). And then will promptly die again a few weeks after that.

Less frequent updates means less engagement, but higher peaks (as in the peak of the 'mountain' of a graph, not the quality of the story LMAO) when update does drop.

Anon also doesn't add content to previously done chapters (like Niki adding the cousin visits) or change previously established lore (like how the Tang Wei talk, which have already changed before, now have changed again as per the latest sneak peek where he tells you the two method of cultivation), so less reason to replay the game once you've finished your desired playthrough.

We also don't have a love-hate relationship with the MC or author like we do here. Practically everyone agrees that the MC is actually great (written well and treated well) and that Anon has a good grasp on his story and direction. Unlike Niki where it changed from 'Cultivating from Houtian to Shangtian' (original version) to 'Cultivating from Qi Refining to Nascent Soul to escape from this world and explore the proper worlds' to 'Actually, you don't have to do that since you're getting invaded and the PoMA world will be merged with a proper world LMAO'.

Addendum:

The lack of leaks also hurt the engagement. We have constant drip of in-game and off-game content here (like character Q&A, side stories, etc.), but we don't seems to have that for AC. Hell, people keep asking for the AC side stories in the WIP and Leaks thread but never seems to get answered.

Yes, love and hate is important. Everyone just loves AC, Thunderfaller and Anon. Well, at least the target audience.

Anon is simply that good. Personally, I can't see many flaws in AC, almost everything I think of as a possible improvement is more to suit my personal taste, not something like "improvement in literary quality". Unlike POMA and Nicky, who even someone like me, inexperienced in creating literary content, can see obvious flaws.

The main technical difference between the two is planning. Anon gives the impression that he has everything ready and the rest is details. As for Nicky, we literally know that, apart from the "clone of a god" plot, nothing was set in stone.

And, what in my opinion is the most important thing, Anon, in my eyes, doesn't treat his creation as a job or a way of earning extra money. The way I see it, this is why, unlike Nicky, Anon isn't afraid to make his MC very strong, because ultimately, he's writing for himself, not for others.

100%.

Anon feels like a dude that already had experience on writing before.

I know this may sound harsh to other author's but...he really doesn't feel like a amateur/hobby writer like the other IF/COG author's do

Out of the author's I know only the golden rose author,Lucas Zaper(war of the west author) and anon himself feel that way to me imo

I wouldn't be surprised if Anon has written a novel before lol

Yeah the reason for that is pretty simple anon makes good money from his job he doesn't need the game for livelihood.Sure who doesn't want extra money but it barely makes a difference.
The actual absurd thing about it is he delivered 210k words in 7 months and in that time he didn't work in January on the game because he was already working on twine port even before the whole thing happened he knew it would happen sooner or later. So that left him with 6 months and given his schedule sometimes he doesn't get to write a whole week or two it happens a lot taking care of kids, sometimes more work from his actual job and what not.
The day he does get time to write he easily averages 5k+ words that day to even sometimes 10k words in 5-6 hours of writing.
If anon could write 5-6 hours a day we would likely be getting 270k words updates every 3 months given his pace. Basically if he was writing full time but for that to happen he would need to make like 20k usd per month from patreon so that it can make around the same as his day job so he can actually write full time. The good part is he will never stop writing AC because financially he is secure.
Also anon finished porting the first 6 chapters into twine only next two chapters are left.

A real shame. I don't know why, but Twine annoys me. I haven't played Shepherds since the change.
