Hope Niki puts more effort into writing nuanced relationships between characters. It just feels very superficial at times.

It's during the event we ask about SLM to him. We can ask why is Ruo so antisocial and he will say that it's because the way Ruo ws raised. He will then ask us to beat him up and change his ways cuz that's the only thing he understands.

Something that reinforces this artificial rivalry is Ruo's own behavior. You can spend the entire game ignoring him, not contradicting him, not antagonizing him, but he will still show up from time to time to say "train harder," "you're weak," "pathetic," "I only used a tenth of my power," etc...

Yes. At the end of the day, we have confirmation from the author himself that he was thinking about the plot as he wrote, with no prior planning other than the MC being a clone of a god. So, we can "safely" assume that Ruo being Dao Child, having "grow beyond any logic or reason" and luck to spare is a reactive plot device to justify asspulls and force rivalry.

That's my biggest issue with Ruo too ngl. Feels like he should be more regal and dignified as a prince instead of bratty.
