Well this explains what he is going for with the new sneak peek at least. Not sure how this meshes with the level progression though feels like this should get some explanation
I think the leveling system is a relic of the old lore where there were still different levels of comprehension to the Arts. I remember in the earliest versions where there was basic comprehension, intermediate etc. And the effectiveness of the skill depended on that + what stage you were at. It said that the Xiantian version of the same Art is by default more powerful but still depended on comprehension.
The 2nd level of Void Step from the Ai event is probably forcing comprehension and increasing effectiveness rather than using the next stage version. So Chao probably has Full comprehension as well as the Peak Xiantian powered version of the Art, so he just flexes that he fully understands the Art and can power it almost to its max.
Comprehension is also a big thing when learning arts in Tale of Immortal. You might have the best possible rarity of a manual (red) but if your comprehension of it is ****, then a person having great comprehension of the previous ranked manual (orange) can put out spell more powerful than the one having the red manual and **** comprehension.
I understand now, thanks. This is very confusingly handled in the game imo, so I hope this is cleared out in the text.
Changing subjects, and as someone else said, I hope we get the opportunity to augment the clan arts to transcendant sometime in the future. I'd love to see what Chao can do with something like a Transcendant version of Void Step or Flesh Scorching Kicks.

Well, considering the fact that in the latest update Yue Yan said that Gods can bust out Sky grade arts on a whim, and that he/she rated most transcendent arts as Sky 6-9 and only World Burning Art as a Void grade, it might take some work. And Tang Wei specifically took time to mock the Sovereign with that one by imitating his Art.
Especially since it took a whole day (give or take) for the MC to upgrade a Low grade art to a Middle level art, idk if any time in the future it would be possible to go from Top to Transcendent, since it would probably take weeks or months. At least not without some asspulls like the fact that we may not be a God but the GS is from a genius God so we don't have to be one to do it quickly.
Although now that I think about it, at least the Heaven Crushing Palm was originally Transcendent and the manual was lost, so maybe it would be possible to "fix" it quickly enough. Flesh scorching kicks is another story though, since it was created by Chao and was and still is Top grade.
MC be upgrading the art by meditating for 10 years atleast.
But seriously, it's really difficult. According to Nicky, even Tang Wei wouldn't have an easy time creating Nirvana-level art.
Fair points but I can also see a pretty big difference from when we augmented Shengjue/Yuan Fang's Art.
Transcendent Dao Seed notwithstanding, MC might already/already has comprehended the Clans Arts as an Early/Middle Houtian and they all match Tang Wei's original three dao 1:1 (Body, Elemental, Void) plus MC has some remnants of Tang Wei's conscious inside himself as shown by the Realm Shattering Fist sequence.
IMO if anyone that isn't already a God can do it, its MC.
Yeah, I'm not expecting anything big like that. Sky or maybe Void at the very max which is already a stretch.
The Tang Fire art is only Nirvana because its a parody copy of the Absolute Destruction Chronicle.
Say, quick question, does being in the LB route locks you out of being in mansion mates with Yue Fang? I agreed to destroy the array, got to the scene where he kicked elder Ping out and then came to us to ask why we haven't packed our stuff to move to the mansion yet. But it always ends with him leaving angrily because he couldn't comprehend the fact that we're working together as EQUALS rather than MC serving him.
