Bruh does he not realise it doesn't have a connection to what the other dude was asking ?Why can't we simply tell him about what we are how are powers work and what is outside just the power system and all without the politics side and help him get upto speed with things.
Idk about Mei, but we only tell Ai about MC's heritage and specifcially about TW right? At that point we barely had any info about outside world.
She knows everything wu heir knows at that points like there is an outside world full of cultivators and that tw comes from there but nothing in specific like lady butterfly, shen long mu and the divine clans/sects.
You guys are right about wanting to tell Chao about qi and the outside world. Because it could be what gets him motivated that there could be a cure/shangtian isn't even remotely close to the peak.
But I also wanted to tell him about whatever deals we ended up making, and even ask him for advice about how we should proceed next. Or handle these new players. (I know, asking him for advice doesn't sound ideal but my Wu heir would definitely want to get his father's opinion. Who else am I going to talk to about these matters that's meant to be wiser and has no ulterior motive?)
i just genuinely don't see any reason we shouldn't be allowed to share this stuff. (Unless this info would break Chao for some reason? But he should be stronger than that.) It's not like we're on a time limit, we're literally allowed to pass out and wake up the next day!

Its just circumstances forcing Ruo and MC to be rivals rather than it being something developed by both. Rivalry is supposed to be personal but nothing about Ruo and MC's rivalry seems personal to me. Two people bond, have conflicting opinions or goals, they assert their position by duking it out which leads to both of them pushing each other to levels they've never reached before. Rivalry will never work out right if one of the two parties dont give a **** about the other. Ruo can care all he wants but it will never work if MC doesnt care about it the same.
Wnat to see a rivalry? Aura clahs jack and thunderfaller are prime example.

Regardless of the reassons thats a classic case of nicky forgetting, not wanting or not taking into account previous knowledge/variations for a scene (which is understandeable poma has a lot going on but still lame nonetheless), for example you cant ask yue yan to cure chao or turn him into a cultivator.
Ps: if yichen kills chao in the show letter route im absolutely allying with the yue clan, fake he gang and even the rogues for revenge.
Speaking of circumstances, this was never going to be a traditional rivalry as you described anyway right? I mean, IE MC would have to rely on politics and trade etc. to get better artifacts and arts to get ready for the tournament. In this route, Ruo is just so much, and I can't stress this enough, so much better than our character it's not even remotely funny. I genuinely don't see Wu heir becoming an actual threat to her for hundreds of years. What did Ruo even see in us here???
Meanwhile cultivator MC gets to simply enjoy the perks of being a real person and not a faker like Ruo. Our growth rate is honestly completely insane and we get to freely ignore the limits a typical houtian would be forced to live by. Now it's Ruo playing catchup and at this point of the game, he literally can't. Dude needs to reach Peak Houtian already or this tournament is literally free.
Both routes just don't give me the vibes of two people pushing each other to be better. Normally I would've expected this to get better, now that we're more or less even, there's actually room for us to compete. But we're going to the war arc after this, like, what rivalry? We're going to try to kill each other soon lmao.
It might not even be Yichen that does it in this route. There are so many ways Nicky can write this to go wrong but yes, I'll refine Yichen into a pizza slice if he does anything bad.
