Honestly, considering how much Tang Yichen handed over as “gifts” just to bind us, it really makes the Wu Clan’s decline painfully obvious.

Girl is the reason you don't even enjoy Jing Clan-level benefits from the clan. She screwed the clan so hard that 700k (that barely covers one of the items of Tang Yichen's benefit list) is a big help to the Wu according to Chao. She's the reason you have to scrounge up breadcrumbs from the floor for like 70% of the game while people like He Gang get it all with no effort
Matter of fact she's literally a real life boomer. An old parasite that reaped all the benefits of the system she built and left over literally nothing to the next generations.

He's already busy running that restaurant day-to-day (I've never seen any staff being mentioned besides a waiter), then add the ersatz-american temperance movement hounding him and himself being incapable of leaving the sect as a disciple, and it's pretty reasonable that he only ever did the restaurant gig during the coma.
If anything it's weird that he never tried anything else AFTER the situation with Su De was settled with Wu Heir, but before He Gang came about. Like he had a ton of time to figure out things in that interval.
