Path of martial arts: leaked sneak peaks, and discussing thread

By the way, I don't know if anyone has played Fate/Samurai Remnant here, but I sort of hope our last fight against Ruo plays out like Iori vs Saber. Though since we don't need to kill everyone in the world anymore, with outside cultivators becoming the norm, I guess that won't happen.

Which is a shame! Even as a saintly person I would've killed everyone to get out into the real verse. I would've loved that conflict.

"Walking the path of peace, as gentle as the sun's warm caress... That's how others see me. That's how you saw me. But I'll say it again: that's not who I am."

"I try to do what I believe is right. Sentiment and sympathy have their place. Living peaceably is the obvious way to lead a happy life. It's as simple as breathing. I know. I know all of that. That's precisely why I've followed along."

"But even so... This was never my goal. Never something I dreamed of. My goal has always been the same; it cannot change. The one thing I crave for is... to master the Path of Martial Arts."

"So you see, Ruo. I'm not a kind person."

"This gentleness that I exhibit, this peaceful path that I follow... I've lived a righteous life to understand the people of this world. That I might understand how they feel, how they think... And through that understanding, know how best to cut them down."

"The more I know, the more fall to my hands. The people of this world, my mentor, you, everyone. And I mean it. I will stand over you all."

"That's why I live, to slay every person I see. Like that perfect Martial Art I saw that day."

Though hopefully, it won't end the same way.

"Now that I think about it, it's obvious. Ever since I saw that majestic transformations of yours, all I've ever wanted was to fight you... A fight to the death."

Anyway yeah, Ruo would need a truckload of character development for something like this, since empire's dog Ruo vs the only one who can save his world Ruo would be drastically different lol

I'm hoping having Yang Gan alive will make Ruo appreciate others more.

...so that it will hit harder when I kill them all.

I hate him because his dumbass caused me to lose and not get any rewards from clearing the zone. If you placed the last qi stone in your butthole at least tell us before we have a fight to the death smh.

Like, if he ended up dying at any point during or after the battle, EVERYONE IS STUCK FOREVER!
The outcome of that fight is just dumb, at least to me. I mean, the guy says he hid the key to your victory, so what do you do: a) check his orifices; b) you still have a few days or weeks left, so use the hundreds of people at your disposal to spend some time looking for it; c) trust him completely and let the guy win.

To put it a bit more darkly, if it were up to me, I would have just spent some time torturing LC until he talked, or, who knows, letting him be sexually "appreciated" by some animals that had been fed aphrodisiacs, for a few days while dozens of people watched. Family-friendly, of course.

Thing is, once Long Chen heals you just lose. And he has no reason not to just...endure until you cave in and let him win.

No need to go that further I'd say, as Xiwen Battle Song Art already has some interesting aspects as forcing the target to revive old memories. Maybe Xiwen & Judgment sect disciples could pull out some sort of formation that can see through the target memories.
Anyway we all know this was just a plot matter, so even if Wu Heir still had precognition powered by the Dao Seed we still wouldn't be able to see through LC plan.

At least we won the fight, so Wu Heir remains the true undefeated, against the abomination who already collected 5 defeats.

Yeah bro, all Ruo has done is take Ls. She got pounded by us, got mogged by LC then got mogged by him again, got washed by Song Edu and his Gooning squad, got washed by Yang Gan, got humbled by Wu heir in the Yang Haoran Killing contest, Got washed by Yang Gan again then got rinsed by Six Desires, that's right or nine L's. She has gotten her *** saved by us so many times that it's insane. I am sorry to burst your bubble Ruo but the only person to have never taken any Ls in their entire life is Wu Heir, The true main character that walks on the path on invinciblity.

I'm still not sure about taking Wu heir's stats to be equal to the highest narrative checks possible. Because, for example, to even reach the 100+ check against twins, you need to actively not be able to defeat them. Or hell, you can use boosts in that whole fight anyway. Then you have the Wu Chao event with the 150 check that lets you basically do 1 damage to the guy and now everyone's saying Wu heir is narratively at 150.

Speaking of narrative, I think it's fair to say Wu heir is meant to be weaker than Yang Gan at the point they fight, given how much we're intimidated by the guy at his base.

I don't know how Long Chen was supposedly the strongest houtian alive when this dude was in the samw sect as him though. Little chen gets dogwalked doesn't he?
I think it's just the fact that Wu heir just grows at just stupendous ungodly rate that end of prem demo wu heir can low diff the wu heir that fought Yang Gan. Making the strongest Peak Xiantian bleed is the greatest Houtian feat in the entire demo and it maybe the greatest feat ever performed by a Houtian in history. Keep in mind, Yang Gan can't defeat an EX.

Torture working depends on what fate LC creditors were going to give him if he doesn't win the danger zone and prove a return on investment. And we know LC decided that death would be better then returning empty handed

Feed him daily with suppressing pills so LC can't recover and have Xiwen use his Battle Song Art to force LC to revive, intermittently, when his mother and sister were raped, until his mind breaks and he start to talk...

Funny Wu Heir was functionally the leader of the coalition so he could pull something like that. Sad we can't have moments of "pragmatic" ruthless.

What would the MC of Path of Martial Arts be like if he were similar to the MC of Dao Ascension? Like, if he were all-powerful from the start? What would that scenario be like?

That assume that the suppressing ropes would be able to hold him that long.

I personally think some of you are underestimating the amount of punishment Long Chen can take. Besides, Both Ruo and Xiwen would have to agree with torturing him for your plan to work.
I don't know, the guy's proud; I think the whole animal thing would have broken him. Anyway, it's exactly these two I called stupid—the MC didn't really have a choice there. If nothing else, it worked out in his favor, since if they had gotten the stones, they would have fought each other afterward, and then the MC would have suffered a real, humiliating defeat.

My criticism of the scene is mainly that it’s poorly written: the characters act as if it were their only option, but it clearly wasn’t, since they had time and resources before they had to give up for good.

Physical definitely. But mental? We already saw that LC is quite weak to mental attacks.
Don't think he could withstand such assault. Mei Mei showing his mother's bracelet alone was enough to the man have a Breakout.
Now imagine reviving the very event, not one, not two, but intermittently...

Xiwen is the core actually. Although he could find it cruel at first he himself said he'd be willing to do/allow anything to defeat LC(As happened for Mei's 99,999 failures). As for the irrelevant lizard a good beat to show who is the leader of the coalition is enough I fear.

Ruo would be the one to suggest torturing him.
Ruo is the first person to accept defeat... He legit saw it as a loss right then and there.
I don't know, the guy's proud; I think the whole animal thing would have broken him.
He has nothing to lose by dying, but everything to lose by living in defeat.
Mei Mei showing his mother's bracelet alone was enough to the make have a Breakout.
Wasn't it something she injected?

He's the first one to suggest LC gives up rather than rushing and dealing the finishing blow, so even if Ruo didn't straight up forfeit, it's hard to imagine him agreeing to it. With his technique no less.

Is Wu heir in a better position after tanking LC's explosion? I don't know, I was under the impression only Xiwen is in fighting state. Though Ruo heals quite fast

The trio did have options, its just that the risk to the reward was insanely s h i t,
Lc dies stone isnt found they are stuck and tang wei just kills everyone, and the very slight chance they find the stone a mh mc is competiting with dragon ruo and ph xiwen, mc was not winning either way and the off chance they torture Lc, he would be 100% petty enough to die with everyone there
