Path of martial arts: leaked sneak peaks, and discussing thread

She was? Male Ai would never work in a cultivation story. Besides, I thought Ai's physique was a female specific one? Something to do with Yin energy needing yang and the very implicating tattoo on her lower belly. I like it when a stories has gender stereotypes and stereotypes in general. Stereotypes have some element of truth to them which makes it more immersive and real. And gives the readers all the more satisfaction when we can break those stereotypes.
Yes, briefly. When Ai was first introduced you could have chosen male or female. He probably didn’t even know where Ai story would go lol. It lasted maybe an update or two, before Ai became canon female.

Exactly, it should always have been important. It was just stupid of Nicky to suggest otherwise.

It’s just my view, but Nicky should simply have always focused on the dragon souls and left the whole sword business as simply Ruo’s natural talent, not a gift from the Heavens that "explains" every absurdity. Dao Child remains POMA’s biggest mistake.
MC is the f*cking World-Honoured One so Ruo needs every advantage she can get otherwise it's over for her. Why do think Nicky Retconned Dragon Souls and Dragon Blood If Dao Child was enough? Dao Child+Insane Luck+Blood and Souls of Thousands of Dragons+Insane Sword Talent+Insane Resources+Time Advantage she got in our total 3 year coma+MC's Unholy Bad Luck+MC's Lack of Resources +MC's Lack of Time are all things she needs to barely be within the same league as us. Even when LB (Ignorant Bum) said Ruo would beat the Wu Goat, Never once did she say that Ruo could without help defeat Wu Goat, No, She said Heavens (Literally GOD) would personally make things hard for us and give her enough bullshit luck that she would pick up a divine artefact that was just laying on the ground. Yes, This post was fact checked and found to be 100% accurate by Wu Clan Glazers.

It also kind affects her story, since her story is intertwined with purity culture.

Her story involves members of martial society shaming her because of her physique, despite her never using it, they nontheless label her as a slut, or as the community here says, a bicycle

The thing is these labels hold power only when there is shame in being sexual, and it is almost 100 percent applied and enoforced on women

If Ai were to become a male this aspect of her story would be diminished, due to the lack of male sexual purity, both in the martial world and the real world.

(Male) Ai would instead be lauded as a player and the amount of (precived) ***(by the martial world and most likely the POMA community) would become a source pride and an avenue for compliments rather than source of shame and ridicule

There is a reason that a man that sleeps around (and is precived negatively) is called a man *****, because all whores are women and being a man ***** is an exception to the rule

Note, there is name for a man who spends time with a women only for their money is called a gilatto (I think), the male equivilant of a gold digger

But that come more as a result of anyone ,no matter the gender, spending time and dating someone purely for their money is almost always precived negatively
A person that actual basic reading comprehension? Impossible. Those guys are called Gigolos btw

Honestly I personally do not hate the fact that RO's are gender selectable, but I do hate how Nicky implements it.

Except for Ai, the gender of the RO's does not play a major role in their story or arcs as far as we've seen. And since in a cultivation world the limits of female to male bodily strength very quickly becomes a non-factor, it doesn't matter if they are male or female.

Now I am assuming here of course, because who knows what Nicki has planned for the characters, but the best example of my point is Ruo. No one hates on FemRuo because he/she behaves almost entirely the same regardless of the gender selected, and we all know it's basically to comply with the laws of Russia while giving the players a RO regardless if they play male or female. I remember when gay romances were still a thing in the beginning so it's not like Nicki himself particularly cares.

The problem is how Nicki implements it. The reason why no one complains about FemRuo is exactly the same reason as to why people don't like the others being gender-selectable. For Ruo it makes sense as to why he/she would act almost exactly the same way—to this character their gender is not important at all. But if Caihong, Tigress (not saying Tiger) or Heavens forbid—Ai, become gender selectable and still act the same, it will ruin their characters. Tigress and Caihong are more or less designed to be female and it's pretty visible, and Ai's whole character would not make sense if she was a man, because then instead of a slut he would be called the stud, and his issues would be the other way around. A "suffering from success" type of character.

Now after Nicki finishes the story and adds most of the features, it would be sensible to dedicate some time to that, because by then the story would be clear as to whether the gender is important or not. But right now it just feels like an unnecessary thing that he just slaps on there for variety's sake.

Yang guy in the Gan event actually has negative comments toward Ruo if Ruo is female since he hates women
