Path of martial arts: leaked sneak peaks, and discussing thread

love everything you said but on the last one,it definitely can be annoying but ive seen worse, niki usually is just trying to instill how strong a character is to the mc and he usually(correct me if im wrong),keeps it to the internal monologue,i would love to see it be more of a optional thing but i cant lie,i hated it before but i at least see the reason for it as long as it doesnt stretch past an internal thought, this is literally me yapping tho cus im just getting flashbacks on the wu bum sucking off every npc that exists and slowly changing my mind lol

Yeah most of the time it's not much of an actual practical problem, because you can then choose to do something else rather than react like you're intimidated.

But honestly it subtly shifts the narrative towards the path where Nicky decides that the MC is 'scared'. Maybe indeed you can choose to ignore the fear and fight but then because Nicky already wrote it as though the MC is afraid no matter what, all future choices and commentary by the MC is based off of that.

Clearest example - the fight with the Shadow Sovereign's assassins. You can choose either to fight them or run away during the ambush. And even if you pass the high checks and have them on the backfoot, the MC sees them dissipate their spell and not bleed and automatically shits his pants, and runs away on his own anyway, without the player being given a choice. You may be roleplaying a Wu Heir who never gives up or runs or whatever, but the MC (even with Iron Will I might add) is intimidated and without the player's input decides "Nah **** this I'm out.".

It can be argued that this is simply logical to do, or that the MC is smart for not fighting a seemingly immortal pair of assassins, and those may be true. But this is a game where you get to choose who you are and how you act, so assuming something for the MC is never a good thing I believe.

This is not the only example btw, just the clearest one.

You should keep in mind Wu heir left his room without wanting to in this scene. So he's already on edge and wants to go back and keep lazing around. 😞

Internal Monologues as a whole need to have a LOT of work put into them. They are the MC's mental space, they should be used to display the personality of someone's Wu Heir in it's purest form.

id say this is more of one of nikis old cuck fetishes of having random npcs beat the mc nearly to death since this was made before he started doing crit checks and i remember it was pratically impossible for the mc(before the crit checks) to flex/do any visible damage to the ss assassins and it seems to be more of something niki has to rewrite than it being something to do with the actual scared internal monologue trope we're addressing but even then i agree with you in everything you said,i was just trying to see it from nikis point of view,i 100% want a more option based reaction to things that happen.

Yes, it’s also a scene scripted just to introduce Caihong – something along the lines of ‘if the MC hadn’t run away then, he wouldn’t have met her’. Although I can totally picture another scenario where the MC would have won the fight and Caihong was simply drawn to him by his scent.

Niki's Cuck fantasy is too strong. A Cuck Fantasy so strong, It warps the space, the time, the universe, the very laws of creation around it.
