I think the main issue is nicky is power creeping himself in the most unnecessary way, he's making every future check stronger than the last checks he's made you succeed, but that's not necessary because the enemies aren't getting stronger. He should allow the power to slip down sometimes, like fighting a super strong person with 100+ checks and then immediately fighting a low level houtian with 30-50 stat checks
