Path of martial arts: leaked sneak peaks, and discussing thread

If I remember correctly the Soul Cultivators that destroy their bodies and Dantian are the ones that are already very far along the Soul path and do it to fully embrace their Soul as their only vessel for power in their own Path.

I think the answer is simply that Sheng Jue is just too much of a Junior to have done this and therefore he cannot effectively exist and/or cultivate without at least some kind of body. Basically I think that his soul is just not strong enough on its own at NS to exist without a body, and that's why he's so obsessed with finding a strong body at least for the time being, before he can do the whole pure spirit thing.

As showcased by the Sovereign, we know that it's possible to cultivate not only two but all three paths to Godhood - them being Dao, Soul, and Body. And in fact many other Gods including TW did at least two paths (mainly Body and Dao). So to be honest why not? If as a Soul Cultivator you can possess and gain all the benefits of a Divine or any other bodily Bloodline without any drawbacks except a little insanity and DID, why wouldn't you? It's an incredible benefit actually, that only Soul Cultivators seem to possess, the drawback being you can only start actually cultivating Soul at NS.

But also a pure Qi Cultivator likewise suffers from the host body limitations, as showcased when we first meet LB. Granted she is much more powerful and advanced than Sheng Jue (Immortal+), but even she says that even with years of preparation, arrays, alchemy, and perfect hosts, she still can't even use a fraction of her power - otherwise she would just be able to do whatever she wanted (barring any of that bad Karma she talked about).

To us she may seem powerful even in a host body, but we have to consider the facts that:

a.) We are very weak and to us even a Xiantian like Chao seems incredibly powerful.

b.) Considering she is an Immortal Lord (I think), her displaying power similar to a Shangtian in a host is not even 0.0000000001% of her power going by Nicky's scaling, as even a super genius CF like Yue Yan can easily solo the whole PoMA planet without breaking a sweat, and that's like 5+ full Realms below an Immortal Lord.

c.) Sheng Jue did not have years of prep, Immortal Level knowledge, and infinite resources like LB to mould herself a perfect host that even after all that can't process the beforementioned percentage of her true power.

So in short - he is just a Junior that to us seems powerful because he uses stuff we can't yet, and even then he seems like he's not far off from a EX in total power level and capability to be honest. And he can't display his full power because his NS Soul would just rip apart the body he resides in even considering he can heal it, and LB suffers from the same thing but just has better prepared and therefore can display more of her power without ripping apart her vessel and the planet along with it.
So...i know that if this is to happen, it will be really, really far in the future, but does that mean that soul cultivation isn't actually off limits for us? Don't get me wrong, i know crazy butterfly tells us all the time not to do it, but maybe she is just crazy and wants us to be perfectly like tang wai or fears that this may make us throw away our unique and realy good dao potential since we have tri dao, not to mention that i am, although suspicious, still have no true evidence of tang wei using soul techniques or cultivation despite his insane fascination and mastery of cultivation, power and techniques, also body and Qi cultivation are insane, but the powers of soul cultivation are insane too and rely more on pure hax, kinda like void dao, also, what abilities exactly does soul cultivation give? So far i saw perception and illusion abilities, soul restraint, sealing and harm, and... telekinetic abilities i think? (Unless crazy butterfly's abilities are a form of soul cultivation too, somehow, i think it is) God, I hope there's some necromantic arts here or something.
Also, does anybody know why xiantians have insights into AuraClash and have aura? And wither this aura is a twisted form of soul cultivation? (I wouldn't be surprised since their inner energy cultivation spans both spells (dao) and body, maybe they do soul too, or at least shangtians do since they require the soul to be perfectly healthy to inter the realm of shangtians) And how or when can we form aura? I heard that is a Xiangtain only power but tigeress has it somehow and an aura forming elixir was mentioned in mei *****'s event with that yuta blood sucker guy.

I myself am curious how training your soul before NS works. Do we lose our progress by making a new soul or do we keep/steal our old one for ourselves?
Probably something tied to willpower more than actual manupltion of soul, at least in the beginning.
Maybe the training can actually allow us to defend or heal our soul, because, the debuffs to cultivation are real and ****ing stack.
It could also, like, really help if we do actually manage to heal wu Chao's soul.

I like to think there must be a way to harmonise the three paths, since each a part that makes up the whole

A perfect soul is only required in order to progress into shangtian though.
And why do we actually care about it? We are cultivators, we advance as we wish.
And from my understanding of it: inner energy cultivation is a strange process that refines body, soul and energy (qi), unlike cultivation where each one is separate and cultivated on its own.
We sure are prone to damge ourselves on the most reckless of Reason thought, which is surprising considering we aren't related by blood with wu chao.
Why, i was so damn sad when six desires dog damaged my soul in tang ruo yang gan event that i made sure not to be wronged this time, but then crazy butterfly came and ****ing ridiculed us and started reaving our soul like crazy then for some reason began spouting nonsense and gave us two extremely complex immortal magics i don't remember their names (hammer shatters and splashes **** and leviathan eats **** or something) and then came and said "you know what, i am gonna inter you."
...
And she has the audacity to call tang wei a bit mad, Crazy *****.

Yeah I think the same to be honest. I think the progression is actually very visible - Houtian Body Rebirth (Body) -> Xiantian Aura (Dao) -> Shangtian (Soul).

For Houtian it's pretty obvious that the Stage focuses on the Body as the main part, as raising your stats is the only way to become stronger without just acquiring better Arts and Spells (as we know that MA's very rarely create new spells below Shangtian).

Then Xiantian unlocks your Aura which the MC states in the Chao scene feels like an imperfect lesser imitation of the Dao. Everyone's Aura is different, and as I've speculated before, is some combination of the Arts and Spells the MA used most and imprinted during their lifetime, their physique if they have one, and then their own beliefs and personality. So Chao has his Perfection Aura and Long Chen has his super regeneration Aura from his Immortal Warrior Mantra that he got from TW.

Shangtian is tough to say but based on the fact that Chao said that reaching Shangtian requires refining a stolen piece of the Heavens into your own Soul and that it's impossible to do with half a Soul like he has - it's pretty safe to say that Shangtian is the Soul realm so to speak. Also Yichen showcases this because when you meet him he explicitly does not use Aura, but still his presence and Will is affecting you. That is unless you yourself have Iron Will a.k.a a naturally strong mind a.k.a Soul. Which coincidentally also protects you from Sheng Jue's Soul attacks - further confirming that.

What I find interesting is the fact that the Soul itself heals with time, because in-game our Soul injuries heal after a certain amount of time, as well as the statement by LB that damaging the Soul for it to regrow stronger is the only way to train it below NS. So I think that maybe Chao's condition is not actually what it seems. Perhaps it actually will heal with time but not enough time for him not to run out of lifespan, or maybe Zhong Delun is actually once again scheming and just literally asked for half of Chao's Soul not only for the Karmic Shield but also to just keep it and bait Chao into giving us away or accepting LB into his heart and soul.

Seems like the sort of twisted love that ZD would show. As we know that morally he is not a bad man, as even TW said that he genuinely loves us and his family more than anything, but to me it looks like he is so brainwashed that he believes that having Chao either out of our life or basically in their cult is what's best for us.

Regarding the soul I think it is very similar to the body, provided the injury doesn't cross a certain threshold and we are given time we can heal and come back stronger, similar to exercising and ripping muscle fibres, but if you take too much damage or the soul is exhausted you can face permanent crippling. It is why I do believe Chao when he says he cannot hold on to a piece of heaven, though with his heart demons I do not think he would be able to reach Shangtian anyway.

As for our character we literally have the soul of a God, even though we do not have the same realm, qualitative wise just like the seed and body our soul should be transcendent, my theory is our soul healing could be a side effect just like the ability to use qi threads to refine our body, which I could believe considering how many people have tried to kill TW. As for what can be healed and what can't, it is difficult to say , we do not actually know the severity of the attacks needed to cripple or kill us especially since none of the soul damage in the game thus far has been the result of someone deliberately trying to destroy our souls.

I have – though I don’t think it quite amounts to a theory – a feeling that, in fact, he never wanted the MC to go to ‘Rogue Land’; I think he deliberately acted the way he did so that Chao and Mum wouldn’t send the MC there under any circumstances. I mean, we know he can predict the future to a certain extent, and whilst I believe he had no way of knowing what the MC would become (since it involves a god and he himself admits he can no longer see the MC’s future), he should at least have known that a potentially huge change was about to happen.

I dont think Delun is brainwashed into the cult, He specifically prohibited MC's cousin from becoming LB disciple, from cutting all her karmic ties. I do believe he wanted to shelter MC desperately and nurture them in his own way from birth. That way they will not be ignorant of the larger stakes around them and the greater world. That and he could also mould them to his liking. Wu Heir is basically by birth an anomaly of massive scale, A COP wielder along with the soul of a former COP wielding god. Thats absolutely massive. No wonder he was ready to cripple Chao and let his daughter die just to get a hold onto MC. Like TW and LB said in game, outside poma strong *** immortals would line up to train Ruo. The only reason that isnt the same case for MC is that they are responsible for the karma of TW and nobody wants anything to do with the misgivings of a god despite having the opportunity to train a potential god themselves. But that's not a problem for Delun, he has karmic ties to MC from their birth and MC is their grandchild, in a way.

That said i would genuinely like Delun to be a good alignment character without any ulterior motives to use the MC. Almost everyone wants something from Wu Heir and it would be a nice change of pace to not have someone ask something of us before helping. Delun doesnt need to be perfect, but he is family like Chao.

I have – though I don’t think it quite amounts to a theory – a feeling that, in fact, he never wanted the MC to go to ‘Rogue Land’; I think he deliberately acted the way he did so that Chao and Mum wouldn’t send the MC there under any circumstances. Or this. This is more likely than what i said. Or maybe i just want to believe Delun is a selfless good character who only wants the best for Wu Heir.
