If I remember correctly, the original book was supported to become the start of a series right? But that never happened and now they decided to make a rewrite. Well just as you said I guess, their work, their decision .

Exactly! It was meant to be a series, whatever they wanted to add should have been done in part 2, who is the next author that will decide that they want to rewrite a book they already released years ago. It's so weird, but then again, it's their book.
