Update: Project Calamity: A Prelude in The Divine

(Worcount: 59 772 words, bringing PC to a grand total of 293k words)

Features:

- THE MARTUS RACE (This thing took my entire soul to write, like really. It's exactly 42000 words. EXACTLY. Not a word more or less.) This has a loottt of RO interactions, and I mean a LOTTT. Personally, I recommend going in this while having done F's and another RO's 2nd events, as there's one scene exclusive to this arrangement, and it's my favorite.
- A cooking competition with Inaya.
- A voilin duet with Aiza (I am actually pretty proud of this one).
- A dance with Link (This one is kinda short and unrefined so take whatever is in it with a grain of salt).
- A doll making completion (I recommend going in this when on I's route).
- An enhancement maintaining competition (I recommend going in this when on A's route).
- POVs for all the ROs (Heh... 'All' he said... Definitely not going to regret this he thinks).

A/N: This time, there may be some bugs present. I haven't had the time to test this as thoroughly, because I very much need some time away from screens. For the last week, I have been editing and coding too much. That's why I HAVE to release this now, because else it'd mean putting it off to after a 1 or 2 week break, which is not great. Anyway, report the bugs to me. If it's game breaking, I will fix it ASAP else I am MIA for the next 3 days.
Author didn't even try😭

Male MC only has Male LIs? Lmfao **** outta here with this...
I just took a quick glance, and all I can say to this is, Nocturne is a female, so yeah, like 5 male LIs and 1 female. Take it or leave it. :ROFLMAO: I swear, this is some minecraft villager tradeoff ffs
Next time, just make a female genderlocked game? Or if you want to include gay guys too, just say hey, this is specifically for those two types of people. Everyone else? Naaahhh

Every time I see a new IF/VN catered to women or gay guys, I'll always give it a few days until some c*nts start saying "wHy onLY mALe LIs" "pLSs aDD big-b00bed feMaLe LIs too" LMFAO too bad the only safe space for women is moderated by people with NPD (Anime-Sharing)
Ah, so it's alright to say **** every straight guy who reads IFs, but God forbid someone says anything about this? You do understand that no one is actually talking particular **** here about it, like, if you want to make a female or gay guy oriented IF/VN you can, no one's stopping you. But, just how CC makes a disclaimer saying to who is her story oriented, these guys can do that too. It's really not that hard, and that's what's actually been pointed out here.
Oh, and I hope you don't mind that I've put you here, since I felt that this was directed at both me and Hackett, for our comments. Not sure why you didn't join in on the fun here, but better late than never! 😂

The male protagonist, Dante, is gay and clearly too. Not sure how people couldn't tell but nerds have seen nothing amiss with male superheroes and their suits so I guess this too goes over people's heads. Not many VNs release with gay protagonists that aren't BL games and the 2 protagonists concept is pretty novel. Not every game is for everyone. Sometimes people are hypocritical here. And yeah, people have already started complaining online but moreso that the love interests are also character locked. I don't know how some people can't tell that certain games are geared more towards women and queer people.

No, yeah, I do agree with you, but I don't think that that's why people are mad. You see, as far as I know, I've read a **** load of IFs, and I can't recall a single one, that could even be remotely considered a "male focused" IF. Like, zero. Though I may be wrong, so take it as is.
And also, I think that straight men are getting tired of it, and for a good reason. Aside from what I mentioned above, and this is also just my opinion, which may or may not be, the way I see it, all those wet wipe MCs, I think that writers of those have that "damsel in distress" trope in mind. Meaning, ideally, they would have a female MC, and a macho RO would come to the rescue, guiding MC by the hand. Though, as I said, I might be wrong on this.
I think that straight guys who are also reading IFs are seeing this, and after so many years, are starting to become fed up with it. Oh, and also, this mostly goes for textual IFs and VNs. I'm not counting actual games that are full fledged playable games, that could also be put in the same space. I'm just talking about text based IFs and VNs.
Still, as you said, not every game is for everyone, but I think it would be neat to have games for everyone, instead of just mainly focusing on certain groups. And yes, I do understand that most IFs can be considered games for everyone, but what I mean was to create a balance. Make more things for men, make more things for those who don't care about romance, don't just focus on one side, but focus on all sides. Because if that was the case, then whoever says anything about the topic could be called a hypocrite, since there would be something for them all out there.
Thank you for listening to my TedTalk :ROFLMAO:

This game is an Amare game. You're complaining about diversity in the wrong genre. I don't know if it's because I grew up playing Otome and Amare games but I can easily tell when a game is made by and for a certain demographic. The games are filled with inclusion because that is what the main audience and projected audience of these games want to see. You're complaining about the wrong developers, they were always going to make something you would dislike. It's a bit hard for me to see why anyone would be confused why a game within this genre could have an experience that isn't your own especially when you can't play a self insert in the game we're talking about. The protagonists have set appearances, personalities, genders, and sexualities. This isn't a VN where you can choose the character's name and personality. It's funny and confusing to see someone angry that there's gays in Amare game...typically made by women and queer dev teams.

While I get that there are a lack of IFs for straight men, this is an overall amusing statement considering the history of gaming though I am not disregarding what you said. I'd argue gay men are also lacking in representation in IFs especially among the cast. I think there should be a lot more options for men while also thinking not every IF is made for everyone. That's the mistake these authors made when constantly trying to add content readers would request. That, and the authors insistance on being inclusive (not a bad thing) made so that readers feel IFs have to suit to everyone and yes, I think they should especially when it comes to gender and sexuality (yes, if anyone couldn't tell, this includes straight and gay men. Seriously, I think I've only seen one gender locked male gay RO).

No, as I said, I do agree with you, nor am I angry about it 😂 I was just explaining why I think people have the reaction they do, though yeah, I do have to point out that I am not familiar with Otome and Amare stuff, and the only thing I know about queer and women devs is that they ****ed up Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2😂(anyone can argue me on this, but since I played the original, there's no winning that battle😂) But aside from that, I've no problems with it, because, as was mentioned a handful of times now, not every game is for everyone.
And yeah, that's why I said that I'm specifically talking about IFs and VNs, since the history of gaming is a whole other thing. Though, to be real here, guys are the majority of gaming industry overall, which is why they catered towards them.

So yeah, no complaints from me, just discussing things, and learning something new in the process (the whole Amare thing)

'You' was referring to the negative reactions of the game here. Not you alone but it did come off that way. Most on the team for VTMB2 were men from videos I saw of the dev team. Women being the blame for everything wrong in gaming is mind control, the issue is that a company not known for RPGs decided to make an RPG. As for men being the majority of gamers, it's actually pretty even in genders now. It depends on the genres were talking about.

It is even now, but you mentioned gaming history, and so I went a little ways back. Me, as was also pointed out, did agree with that, because I still do agree with that 😂 Though for real, that's literally a personal opinion and preference; I'm not going out of my way to the devs comment section and **** on them. I couldn't care less, but I think that I can be of my opinion😂 That's why this place is so cool in my opinion, because people can say how and why they think the way they do, without getting a bunch of rabid morons on their *** (talking about the insane CoG author simp fans)
And when it comes to the VTMB2, not sure if that is true or not, but what I do know, is that they fired the original devs that were working on a game, scrapped the whole ****ing idea, and then put these new progressive folks in there. They ****ed it up majorly, and have only slightly adjusted it near the end, because of insane backlash that they've gotten. Though I must point out that I never said that I'm blaming women for everything wrong in the gaming industry, I just pointed at whoever the new guys for the VTMB2 are

Read again bruv, 2 M!Lis + 1 F!Li is for the F!MC, M!MC has only 3!Lis

Is he? Thats G-.... Well, lmao, you get the point.

I do wish it were actually specified at an earlier point. I remember the MC introductions posts on their Tumblr, and nowhere was it stated that Dante was gay. I guess it was on me for thinking this VN would be like their first one with the twin MCs, that one had 2 F!Lis, but yeah, whatever.

This one ain't for me, so I won't play it.

I think the issue is that game just released a demo, so people who don't know anything about the game just discovered it to find out that the game actually has set sexualities for everyone. There's even a straight guy, Edgar, on Circe's route. I guess it can be jarring for people who don't expect things like this in VNs. I think they should put at least the main characters sexualities on the itchio page so people aren't confused going into the demo. I only knew about this because I follow their tumblr and happened to see a post about it. I think devs are too reliant on tumblr and assume this information will somehow get to everyone else. Who remembers the Andromeda Six tumblr that had a lot of cool lore and character information uploaded to it and then they deleted it years ago (cannot blame them some fandoms on tumblr are annoying)?
