Update: The In-Between (Chapter 19)



This update adds about 5,600 words.

Devlog:

- Fixed some wording across multiple scenes;
- Adjusted spacing in several passages;
- Corrected an issue with chat bubble colors during the MC/Raf meet-up sequence;
- Replaced the full first name used in Chapter 18 with the short name MC goes by;
- Fixed incorrect height conversion for female MC in the Stats tab;
- Added an option to not choose a short name at character creation.

A/N: the “no short name” option has not been fully tested throughout the entire story yet.

SFW readers: please note that a couple of alternate scenes are still missing. Just skip the reading of steamy scenes by clicking on "Next", as nothing else happens on those pages.

New IF: My Perfect Devil

Summary:

You have little to show for the past twelve years of your life — as an idol, you've been painfully mediocre. Three failed groups, a solo career that's only held on because of your proximity to others, and a company that keeps you because you cause no waves.

Liú Bǎojùn is one of your few remaining peers, and everything you're not — wildly successful, loved by all, and still part of his group, even if they rarely work together any more due to their schedules. Even as his career took off, he always made time for you and even tried to boost your profile by featuring in your songs and making guest appearances at your fan events.

He's always been good to you…wonderfully attentive and affectionate, and eager to smother you with his love in one breath, and leave you wondering where the two of you stand in the next.

He's perfect, except for all the times he's left you devastated.

New IF: The Jade Phantom

“They say the King owns the land, but the Prince owns the ghosts. And you, with your mother’s silver butterfly and your father’s heavy debts, are the most haunted thing in Hanyang.”

Summary:

The Year is 1404. The Joseon Dynasty is a newborn beast, built on the bones of the Goryeo kings. You are a Cheonmin—a slave, a piece of property, a ghost. But you carry a face of "jade," a delicate, feminine grace that feels like a floral scent in a room full of iron.

While you scrub the palace floors, you hide two crimes: the ability to read the King’s private scrolls, and a silver lineage that proves you are the last of a fallen noble house.

When the brilliant, obsessive Crown Prince catches your reflection , your invisible life ends. He doesn't want a servant; he wants a masterpiece to keep in a gilded cage of scrolls and silk.

Update: Chains of Destiny

A/N: Just wanted to let you know that I’ve uploaded the first of the monthly updates, aiming to finish up Chapter 3 Part 1.

This update brings around 56k new words to the story. A huge thank you to my wonderful beta testers for their help (they helped me fix soooo many bugs and errors behind the scenes). There are a lot of new variables, though, so you will need to start a new save to play the update.

New IF: Infinita Nocte 2051 (First Half of Chapter One)



The nations of the world have united to become 8 factions. Culture is destroyed, ancestry means nothing, and you are not your own.

A secret deal struck between the Emperium— that is, the home of the Unison— and the Eastern Assembly changes the trajectory of your life forever; you have become unrecognizable, even to yourself. When you and your little sister are finally selected for transfer to the Emperium in 2039, the Unison's Second Sovereign expresses his displeasure. Feeling that the Eastern Assembly has grown too complacent in wake of their prosperity, he orders a massacre before your eyes and you are the sole survivor.

The thing that saves you? His maddening superstition.

It's been 12 years since the Second Sovereign took you back to the Emperium and transformed you into his perfect lapdog. You carry out orders without question— you know better than to earn his disapproval. You are appointed to UNIT 01; the best of the best. His personal unit.

You come to learn that not everything is as it seems.

Navigate your fellow unit members, investigate a plot unfolding within the walls of the Emperium itself, and stop the Unison before it's too late— or, pave the way to their victory.

A/N: Lilith/Lucien won the poll on Tumblr for the POV short story. I'm releasing it a few days early to celebrate the second anniversary of the demo's blog on Tumblr.

Update: Soulbound: A Ghost Story

A/N: Today's Soulbound update takes us to the end of Memoriam the Third, and by extension a conclusion to the Timaeus ruins storyline, which means next time will be a return to the present day with Chapter IV!

In total, this update is ~74,000 words, which I'm pretty sure is the largest single update I've ever done for this story. This is mainly because the first half is split between several different routes, dependent on how you ended the previous part, but I think even a single playthrough will be pretty hefty.

Anyway, I don't have an ETA on the next update, but I anticipate it being shorter than this one (..at least, I hope), which hopefully also means it might come a little bit faster.

But as always, no promises.

Your saves might be broken. There will be no need to report this as an error. Updates made to the game file will cause this. There is a skip feature that lets you fast-track to the beginning of Chapter 6. I'm trying my hardest to keep things from breaking, but it is part of the development process.

The warnings list has been updated in the game, please review before reading.

There are some huge reveals in this chapter. Feel free to send in asks if you want to comment or if you have questions. Note that I cannot answer everything and will take measures to keep the reveals secret so other people can enjoy the surprises when they read.

As always, if you find anything game-breaking, please let me know asap (DM, ask, etc.). I'll be watching my feeds as closely as I can today to address any major issues that might interrupt your reading. Typos/grammar/spelling issues should go to the error report form linked in the game and on my pinned post. Other bugs can either go to the error report or my inbox. I am slowly working on a full-game spelling and grammar review, but... There are a lot of words here, so it's taking a while, lol.
