Public Updates (CogDemos, Itchio and VNs)

New IF: Final Cut

Summary:
About a year ago, you were hired as the personal assistant of world-famous actor Reese Morino. Not exactly the easiest job, or the most rewarding, or the best paid… but hey, this was just a way to get a foot in the door for you. You have other ambitions for yourself. Except now that you’re at the beck and call of this trouble magnet, you have no time to actually focus on what you want to do.

Things only get more hectic as you get dragged onto the set of The Renegade, the hit fantasy series that made Reese’s popularity skyrocket. As the shooting of the fourth and last season starts, everyone is under pressure—you included. But maybe you can use what little influence you have to help make the show a success… and, while you’re at it, find your own place in the industry.

Features:
→ Play as male or female; straight, gay, or bisexual.
→ Customise your appearance and personality.
→ Pursue your dream career (actor, screenwriter, or talent agent).
→ Decide what kind of personal assistant you will be: the voice of reason, or an enabler.
→ Find allies in the industry, and collaborate with others to bring your own projects to life.
→ Navigate the chaos, drama, and conflicts of interest on the set of The Renegade.
→ Play your small part in determining the fate of the show.

Romance Options:

Reese Morino:
A popular actor beloved by the public, but with a less than stellar reputation in the industry. He’s known to be temperamental, fussy, unreliable, and charming in a way that borders on manipulative. Reese depends on you to function—and, even then, he barely does.

Fiona Castel:
Reese’s agent, as fierce as she is pragmatic. She prioritises results above all else, and there is no moral line she won’t cross to protect the interests of her clients. She has a solution for every problem… except how to deal with her own stress in a healthy manner.

Graham Park:
The showrunner behind the success of The Renegade. Though he hides it behind a dry sense of humour and a jaded, bitter exterior, Graham is still an idealist at heart, driven by his passion for the art. He’s notoriously hard to approach, and even harder to please.

Nikki Varga:
A production assistant working on The Renegade, Nikki is also an aspiring actress, performing with an amateur theatre troupe while searching for her big break. She’s spontaneous, unfiltered, and optimistic to a fault, which often makes her a hazard to herself.

Update: A Crash Course In You

Chapter 3 (for F!LS) is here, completing the chapter for both LS's!

Features:

- Face your biggest hurdle in the drama filming yet.
- Work on your acting and character development.
- Share feelings that both you and Lee Seol have been holding back <3.
- Thank you all for waiting!

Next time, finish filming the drama and go on a reward vacation for the entire drama staff. Possible drunk shenanigans (including kabedon) ensue~~

Update: Wraithbound

Wow, it's been a minute -- much longer than I meant it to be -- but I'm not dead! This one adds the next half of chapter 4, adding just under 40k more words too the story. We're getting into the thick of it now :-)

Features:

- All the RO's in one room. This couldn't go wrong at any point, right?
- Take the first steps of investigating the missing people of San Arima.
- Or if you were in jail, break out of it!
- Make sure you stay yourself :-)

Other things:

- Bug fixes!!!
- Added non-consensual body modification to warnings list... Don't worry about that, okay?
- Added achievements! So far there are only 3, but I do plan on adding more in the future.

Update: Pactbinder

Chapter 4 of Pactbinder is now live.

- Overall, the content added with this update is again pretty chunky: ~117k words added in total.
- Total word count is at around 409k words (excluding menus and startup); the average playthrough is probably around 120k words, just under ~30% of total word count.
- I do think this chapter will feel faster than the last couple - at least it did for me, when playtesting - I think that's due to a mix of action and branching.
- Outside of the content outlined below, I’ve made some substantial reworks again to the menu system, including written flavourtext for the MC's relationship bars with certain important characters. There's also some fun stuff with the Mastery bars which you'll see once you get there.

Some things to look out for in Chapter 4:

- Conclude the Pactbinder's first term at Hightower at last.
- Take your end-term exams.
- Grow closer to a collegemate - potentially romantically. Or spend time with the whole crew!
- Delve into Old Hightower.
- A reunion.

I hope that you enjoy the release, and please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any feedback or commentary. As always, views on the game so far and comments are truly gratefully received.

I’m especially interested to hear if the cast is still working for you and how you found the romance scenes. I’d also love to hear about your Pactbinders, and whether there are any points where you feel the narration or the options available to you didn’t give you an option that worked for your character.

Finally - please do share your stats in the report at the end of the chapter with me - these are hugely helpful for my work balancing each chapter (plus I love seeing how everybody is running through the game!).

Thanks for sticking with the story (and welcome to those new to Pactbinder!)

Update: Anything For The Crown

A/N: I am going to be busy tomorrow, so I am making Chapter 3 public today.

In this chapter, your MC attends their first council meeting as Isolde's advisor, learns more about what killed the king, spends the afternoon with an RO or by themselves, attends court, and possibly has a nice dream.

New IF: Moonbathing
tumblr_6d45918cc0f8c214193963cdbe7a78df_75b08ae0_1280.jpg

Summary:

You are… you.

At least, you think you are.

Questions of identity are tricky little things. Is a reflection the same as the thing it mirrors? Is it something lesser, or something entirely its own? You've had centuries to think about it and still haven't found an answer.

Granted, a lot of that time was probably spent sleeping.

What you do know is this (From a single memory and the unreliable recounts of a journalist): long ago, you awoke in a stone sarcophagus overlooking the sea. You probably wandered the land for years beyond counting, collecting stories, sights, and memories that never seemed inclined to stay put. Then, one day, you returned to where it all began and fell into a deep sleep.

And now, moon, you've awakened once more.

tumblr_9948ff6881bd47c828a5b1185adb06c3_3e8b9fd9_1280.jpg

- Play as...some form of physical manifestation of the moon. You're not too sure yourself.
- Customise your moon. From their appearance, to their pronouns, to their personality.
- Freeload off a poor paramedic or actually get a job.
- Decide whether you feel closer to being human or something other.
- Befriend or romance a cast of 6 characters, from a charming journalist to a person you've only seen in your memories.
- Work with your new buddies to find out exactly what you are, and if your sudden appearance is linked to the strange phenomena happening in the seaside town of Merrow.

The Journalist: Nanya Walsh - She/Her [RO]

One of two journalists in town. And naturally, she knows everyone, for better or worse. Which made it all the more interesting when someone she didn’t stumbled into her dressed in soaked Ancient Greek cosplay. She thinks you make a wonderful Poseidon.

The Boyish Brother of Two: Charles "Charlie" Albright - He/Him [RO]

Everything about Charlie is colourful, from that flannel jacket he insists on wearing everywhere to that head of... red? Orange? Hair that very nearly blinds you whenever you stare at it for too long. And luckily for a waterlogged creature like you, he's more than happy to accommodate you in his wonderful household.

The Mayor's Daughter: Lucia Beauregard - She/Her [RO]

You get the feeling she hates as much attention as she receives, judging by that horrifying look in her eyes. But from the way she's constantly looking for it, you're not too sure. She's allegedly picture-perfect. You’ll be the judge of that. You’ll be seeing a lot of her after all.

The Town Pariah: Quest Rivers - He/Him [RO]

Just Quest, or Rivers. He hates the full thing. There's a rumour around town about his parents playing D&D when they were coming up with baby names. Luckily, you have more than enough time to get close and find out all his little secrets... somehow. He kind of scares you.

You Don't Actually Know: Warden Hearst - He/Him [RO?]

A psychologist? Doctor? Archaeologist? He's told you he's many things, helpful being one of them, and whether begrudgingly or not, you have to admit it holds true. He's taken a strange interest in you, as have many people around town. Yet his form of interest seems a bit... off.

A Fragment of Your Memories: Redacted [Partial RO]

You've seen them once and never again. In that one memory you have swirling around that jumbled-up head of yours. From what you remember, you were quite close. You don't know if they're still around, or if they ever existed in the first place, but you can find out.

Rewrite: The Bastard of Camelot

What's new? The Chapters 4+5 re-writes completed!
This long-awaited public update brings you:

- So much new Dragon Friend content, as this was the main point of the re-writes. Their character and relationship with Mordred continues to be fleshed out throughout chapters 4 and 5 with re-written and brand-new scenes.
- Play around with whether Mordred stays friends or falls in love with the Dragon Friend; for the latter, the romance can be started in any of the chapters! (though the confession has not yet happened in chapter 5 👀)
- There's so much more to discover in this update besides the extended DF content.
- Chapter 4 has been heavily edited for a smoother pace; the misc birthday hang-out scenes have been cut out, but they will be released as a free, bonus mini-game.
- There's new choices for trans Mordreds too, both in chapter 4 and 5. Also the opportunity to bond with Elaine over it.
- Added new options in chapter 3 for Mordred to either stay on amiable but not close terms with Arthur - they're pen pals, Mordred just wants an ally - or actively manipulate Arthur into thinking they care about him.
- You can also have a chat with Alina in chapter 4 👀.
- And more! Really, I recommend re-reading chapters 4 and 5 in their entirety in order to discover for yourself all the new changes and additions.

Enjoy! 🖤

Update: The Forest

This update includes both Chapters 4 & 5.

Features:

- Make it to the city.
- Learn something.
- Buy something
- Have some ?
- Maybe don't that though???
- Meet someone new?
- Pay final respects to a lost friend.
- Some routes have potential for smut...

What's Fixed?
- Lot's a grammar fixes.
- Bug fixes.
- Some additional content added to fix consistency.

Update: The Wrath of Sekhmet (Chapter 2)

Word count (in total): 15.9K (without code) [+9.6K]

mobile friendly (i hope) and playable in browser.

Chapter Two!! After two whole years!!

- it’s short again (sorry about that), but chapter three will definitely make up for it.
- meet El and Aksel.
- matchmake Maddox and N a little…if you want.
- bulked out the first chapter a little bit.
- i was struggling with the stat bars after two years of not touching twine, so i stripped the stats back to the absolute basics, but they work now…so a win is a win!
- changed the plot a little, tiny bit. it just makes more sense to me now.

Next Update:

- chapter three! which will involve your journey to the site of the first clue, some parkour, maybe a mummy encounter, and meeting menna.
- sort out the profile section.
anyway. here’s to hoping we don’t have to wait another two years for my brain to reengage with this.

Update: Sadeans (Chapter 1 Part 2)

What’s New?

- Continuation of Chapter 1!
- Personality and Skill Stats!
- Relationship Stats!
- More detailed appearance customization.
- Prologue.
- New love interests.

What’s Old?

- Junit’s shenanigans. Seriously. MC might just kill them.

A/N: I recommend restarting, as you can now customize your character’s appearance, and there’s a prologue at the beginning~

Also, I meant for you to meet one more LI, and see Coleman again, but wasn’t able to manage it. So, Coleman will be next up for the character intros!
