Haven't finished the game yet, but there was a vn that got released quite recently "sigh of the abyss".
While I usually play games for their plot and not the romance, honestly Sylas got me good.
We don't know exactly who she works for, but it's supposed to be some weird thieves guild that all have matching scars for some reason?? When you meet her, she's banters a lot and stuff (not in a flirty way) but when you flirt at ALL, or really just be nice to her in some scenes, she gets all shy. And it's not in the anime way, it's kinda endearing (no offense to the anime lovers)
The flirting and her being flustered also happens later in the game because it's not romance driven, and it feels way more organic than her randomly being smitted with you. I appreciate this greatly in games, having to wait and not being able to fluster a person before they even know eachother. (who even flirts with people at a first meeting..?)
Also the scene where you're trying to find a cat with her is real adorable to me.
She's also asexual like me, and representation of us is kind of rare in media so i might be biased lol.
Anyways for now i recommend the game. Plot driven, voice acted in some scenes, artstyle is really good, game is set in some fantasy reinassance city i think? What else could you ask for? A thing that may drive people away is the fact that mc is genderlocked as a woman.
I will edit this recommendation once i finish the game, because an ending can make or break it. I don't think giving it a try will hurt though? Its on f95 for anyone interested, the version on rin is outdated and it has a gamebreaking bug (was really buggy on release). Hopefully the f95 version is fine.
Edit:finished it today, and the ending was a bit underwhelming imo. i expected something a bit more emotional, and something longer, but tbh compared to 90% of the vns on itch io its pretty good. no gamebreaking bugs for me, but this game has like 100 different routes and variables so who knows where you can find a gamebreaking bug. maybe my ending is just bad? this story isnt linear, so maybe i just got a flatter one lol. i know the author was really rushed to finish it too, since it was supposed to be released in like late 2023 but got released almost a year later, because the ending really does look rushed tbh. i don't mind it so much. Would i pay the 17 usd for this though? If i lived in a 1st world country and the only thing i had to sacrifice for it was like 4 starbucks coffees, then maybe, at least to support the author.
