In the latest version you can join the army of the Alps and meet Napoleon, which you can't do in the version you have provided us. There's also a UI overhaul, and I'm pretty sure an entire extra act.

You already can join the army of the alps, meet dumas and napoleon in 0.1.1. Just leave the army of the north and you'll meet them

Ask for transfer, there should be a choice that said you need to be anywhere but the army of the north. Around the same time as the committee of public safety form (robespierre and saint just)
