If you are a chef d' Battailon/Escadron or Major, Napoleon appoints you as an officer of the imperial guards, provided you don't get exile to Spain.

Last is below colonel rank, you can achieve this if the rest of the arc 4 your rank aide to napoleon. Later in beginning of arc 5 you are part of imperial guard

Can you add options to change rank on the mod menu more easier? I think it's helpful for people who don't want to change rank by story in interlude

I updated the mod so download the HTML and swap. The game may skip promotional scene if you increase your rank and the pay still remains the same till the next promotional scene.

Be good with napoleon, have prestige above 500-600

You need to back read I think. There is already an explanation in this forum how to save Dumas as Cavalry. But it is limited you can do as an Infantry.

i think you can only do it as a cavalry officer, basically you need to go through the josephine guard duty and tell napoleon about the affair, then befriend dumas at klausen. dont use the debt before you go to egypt, then when bonaparte invites you to leave you use up that debt to get dumas onboard

If you save Dumas, his son will likely never write "The Three Musketeers" and "The Count of Monte Cristo", hopefully there will be an option to support Dumas financially because Napoleon refused his pension and his family never got anything from government after Napoleon died.

If you leave Dumas in egypt as His friend you could Fight War minstery as a Marshal to secure his Pension for his Wife and children

I do think Dumas even retired if alive still has a Pension cause in AC5 interlude Napealon if Dumas is alive says he offered his a Nobility Title but he refused out of Principale
