Samurai of Hyuga 5 (1.0.17):
Unfortunately, the import/export save features only work on the APK. You will have to make a new character if you must use the html file.

Includes the update that lets you export your book 5 save, so that it can be imported into book 6.

There is an unknown “something” stat (name becomes known in chapter 3/4) that heavily affects the game. I recommend caution when changing this one.

If you do change it, the number you enter will likely not be what shows up in your stats (ex: entering 80 might show up as 83%). It’s calculated in a different way than most stats.

The game will also occasionally reset that stat, so your changes will not always stick.

Character portraits are included in the folder with the html file, if you want to see them. I removed them from the stat page as they were cluttering it. I don't think the portraits are used elsewhere, so they can also be deleted.

Hopefully it’s okay for me to make this thread. I didn’t want the requests thread to get clogged, or to potentially get multiple DMs/mail about the same issues. Move/delete if needed.

I tried to make a mod menu for Samurai of Hyuga 6. I don’t normally use mod menus myself, so hopefully it has what you guys need. I’ve made a few private mods for myself previously, but it’s been years.

I have done basic testing on this but have not played the game yet (I want to reread the series before I play it fully), so please report errors here. Or make suggestions for any changes / additions. No guarantees it's something I can do (or want to do lol).

If needed, I will delete if an official(?) mod comes out, or someone with more experience makes one.

Unfortunately, you'll have to replay book 5 if you use this. I don't think there's a way to transfer saves like that.

I'm not great at explaining things tbh, so I doubt I'll write any tutorials. There are already a few on this forum if you look around, I think.

I used this tutorial (https://choiceofmods.com/threads/adding-save-system-to-deiarcana-mods.6059/) to check on how to compile games since I haven't done it before this. They also show how to add in a save plugin, and mention a guide on how to mod games (I assume this one: https://choiceofmods.com/threads/my-scene-files-mods-and-tutorials.6288/). I haven't given that one a close look, but I'm sure it's a good place to start. Looks like they include some of their mods as examples for people to take a look at.

For anyone wanting to turn CoG games (I assume Twine games as well) into APKs, I recommend checking out Capsule HTML2APK on itch.io (https://capsuleteam.itch.io/capsule-html2apk-html-to-apk-converter). It's technically for a VN engine, but works with anything that's a single html file. You do also need Android Studio, but there are no trials or restrictions like some other "free" APK builder programs I've seen. Just need to remember to add any images, etc to the assets in the project folder the program creates (under "/app/src/main/assets", which is where the index.html will be) before actually building the APK, else your images will be blank.

Other notes:
There are apps on Android like WebCode, TrebEdit, or similar that let you "play" html files and you can import/export characters that way. But I am unsure if the apps are stable enough for a full playthrough, or if there are similar apps for other platforms.

Sorry for not being much help with this and asking the probably obvious questions, but are you sure you're using the same email address for both?

I can't see any reason why your newer saves aren't showing up. I checked the code in mine and Dan's mods. The "store name" that's used by the server to identify the games is the same, so any saves associated with both that "store name" and email should come up, I think.

If the email is the same, and Dan's mod doesn't get updated soon, you might could try just clicking fast through 4 to make a save and test it out. If you just select the first option every time, it should only take a few minutes to speed through for a test run.
