Starts with an M, fantasy world but the mc is without magic but uses a machine made by a shady race of human like people to use magic anyway and it's got a really angry lady trapped in like a small mirror or something held around a child's neck. Can't figure out where tf I read this.

it's about you being a mermaid—or was it a siren? (correct me if i'm wrong) but yes, the mc died, possibly after being chased, and you get to choose who or what you were escaping from. then, you’re turned into a siren—vengeful creatures who were killed and now lure humans to their doom. if you're playing as a male, many characters and the game itself will comment on how rare it is, since sirens are usually women. as a siren, you can choose to help your kin lure and kill humans against your will or resist and find another path.
