I know I'm a bit late to the party (not really, I was actually on C.Anon's server when this actually happened; I saw this live, lmfao), but God damn is this the biggest pile of horseshit this side of the Milky Way.
I won't deny that things over in the AC server can get...s•p•i•c•y for lack of a better term. Still, the nonsense this CoG thread was spewing was completely ridiculous lmao. First off, they provided literally zero proof anyone from the AC server was "joining the forum to engage in 'brigading activities*'" nor did they even inform/give any sort of warning to C.Anon**. It is one thing to have ridiculous, arbitrary standards in your own forums; it is quite another to enforce said draconian standards onto a separate app/platform that is not, in any way, affiliated with CoG company.
This is complete textbook overreach, and the CoG moderators(who were complaining about doing their job) should be ashamed of themselves. C.Anon is the latest in a list of Authors that were singled out and systematically bullied.
Completely despicable actions and a shameful display by the CoG team.
*We respected the CoG's forum's wishes not to interact with each other due to our different standards of speech
**The only time C.Anon was contacted by CoG was to inform him that he cannot link his Discord to the Forum due to a lack of moderation. Which he complied with, half a year later they ban him without real cause or evidence, nor a point of contact.
Honestly, the fact that the guy upon seeing the use of the n word hard er as a fully derogatory slur, his reaction to it was just to say that the slur sayer should go to a different part of the discord, kinda tells me all I need to know about the dude. I don't see the idea that such behavior should be banned rather than allowed to persist to be some kind of arbitrary ridiculous draconian standard. The average person would say that that is racism and isn't okay period and I would agree with them there, and I am completely fine with someone facing social consequences for such. Maybe it sets a bad precedent, maybe not, but I'll get up in arms about it when that precedent is used badly. CoG after all isn't a government and has no monopoly on violence or court systems to reinforce and legitimize their decisions so waiting until they target someone who isn't allowing these things--that I feel most people would agree are outright objectionable--to complain is acceptable to me. While there can be nuance to the conversation about the rights and roles of companies and other structures of power being allowed to do harm by refusing access to services, this falls squarely on the fair side of the line for me.
