Sounds like odds of a smooth demo play are 50/50 for now. Though someone did mention using Chrome and having no problems. Edit: Infamous link has disappeared from WIP thread. 2nd and 3rd screenshots are kinda spoiler-y.

So for those that don't know, Amy did post the link for the Chapter 2 update, and shortly thereafter, took it down (most likely due to multiple bug reports from readers). Turns out, the author for the Golden WIP (milaswriting) reblogged the post, and as of right now, it's still there. So check out her blog to find the entire post (would've been too many screenshots, lol), as it has the link too. No update on any bug fixes, but the link works (I tried) and I hope it does for you guys too. Happy (hopefully smooth) reading!
