💬 0 🔁 1 ❤️ 5 · just made myself laugh by thinking about this but a sudden thought popped up in my head in where i was just imagining pro tennis player!MC who's in a relationship with both G and S…

how do you propose we fix this predicament then? like actually. are you that wet behind the ears that you think people on the internet will stop being rude just because we talk about it or because you ask them to? my brother, take a seat and actually listen to what you're saying. as far as we're concerned, the day that negativity is purged front the internet is the day that pigs will fly. so, wouldn't trying not to let it affect you be a better course of action considering comments like those are inevitable and will be forever?Buying a bullet proof vest is an entirely illogical response to gun violence though. Unless you live in the kind of very rare situation of an active civil war it is an entirely unreasonable and irrational thing to do, to buy one and wear it around all the time in the expectation of that one in a million or likely even much lower chance of needing it in your day to day. It should not paint me as some kind of naive privileged person to say we should actually try to address the root causes of an issue, nor have I once said that talking it out is the solution. Merely that we will never get to any kind of solution to these deep-set problems without talk and consideration on some level. I don't believe everyone around me is level-headed, I personally expect to die via execution or mob at the way things seem to be going in the current socio political climate if we don't veer out from the spiral we are heading into, but some people are and we need to be able to talk and discuss issues to hope to actually address them rather than just ignoring them or saying that it's a personal failing for being bothered by them. And personally I see people getting more jaded and more uncaring, repressing the part of themselves or getting rid of their anger or outrage because no one cares or because it doesn't matter, the world won't change, as an absolutely abhorrent idea
My statement was solely in response to this idea that people should stop raising a fuss and get a thicker skin, only caring about themselves. That we need to be able to talk and discuss solutions, not because talk is the solution, but because solutions are derived from ideas and impeding the exchange of them and the information of these issues at all only adds fuel to the fire. I don't know what I said there that could lead to the things you feel I said that were objectionable. And my comment about the mods is because I don't know at what degree of separation to the topic is acceptable for this discourse. I felt entirely justified in responding to someone responding to an author's post, however as you get further from that things begin to be shaky. Maybe you don't care, and that is your right, but I do actually care and don't want to make more work for another human being if I can help it. You can see me however you want, but please don't pretend that my statement was that if only we can talk everything would be magically solved.
