5 Year Anniversary

5 years ago today, I released the first demo of When Twilight Strikes. The demo only included the first 3 chapters (and was on an entirely different platform), but I was so proud of it. I still am. I remember sitting in my university dorm when I pressed "send." I had spent the morning frantically combing through the files for grammar mistakes, which I later would find hundreds more of, like pests you cannot get rid of. Still, for at least a moment, I was worry-free. WTS is my first-ever IF game. One of my first ever endeavours to become an author. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
I'll skip to the part you care about now: to mark the occasion, I'm officially announcing that Chapter 13 will be available to play on April 17th, 2026. This is the latest date the update will go live; there's a chance that, if I get things done quicker, it will be moved up by a few days.
As before, Patreon release will be 3 and 5 days earlier than public release on the Twilight and Midnight tiers, respectively. I’ll post another announcement as we get closer to the date.
Now, I know accomplishments shouldn’t solely be measured by numbers, but I’ve racked up quite a few statistics that I’m very proud of, such as:
824k views and 399k browser plays
1425 ratings (+300 from TMH: Shorts)
Top 15 on the "Top Rated Interactive Fiction" category
And of course, maybe the one I’m proudest of all: the fact that this game is over 680,000+ words (Chapter 13 is 117k and counting).
5 years is a long time. I’m not sure I thought I’d get here when I posted that demo all that time ago, but here I am, still more passionate about this project than ever before. A large chunk of that has to do with my audience. You.
Thank you for supporting me, thank you for loving my writing, story and characters as much as I do. Thank you for giving me a chance. I know it’s been a long wait since initial release in 2021, but I really appreciate everyone who has stuck by me. Whether you started reading my story today or have been here with me since that first demo, I appreciate you.
All my love, Kristi <3
